  1. Yes, it is cheaper if you do it yourself. You can TRY to get in early or sneak away to decorate before yourself. I have it done it both ways and I will say that I much prefer to pay the extra and let them do it. I have gotten or brought decorations on all 5 cruises I have been on. Even when it was a themed cruise, then I brought my own but it was no surprise, just so I could find my door easier.

This door has a fish and mine is 5 doors down with the bon voyage sign. Hubby always said, "It's 206 right!" NO, IT'S THE ONE WITH THE MAGNET. Now that I think of it..... He may have been jacking with me. LOLOL

  2. I chose NOT to watch the 60 minute special. :o I made my plans MANY MONTHS ago and it's too late to change them now. Now granted I was nervous about the 4 days of flights per week or whatever but decided I'd take that chance. My daughters were stranded (ok not stranded but had to pay additional to get another airline flight home) in Las Vegas when they flew Spirit. No big deal just another couple hours added to their vacation and more money. (NO, I WAS NOT HAPPY because I had to pay the extra money to get them home. And yes, I realize everyone does not have that luxury).

I choose to think of it as, I can't live my life around what MIGHT happen. You only hear about the BAD flights. You never hear about the hundreds of daily flights that make it perfectly fine to their destinations.

Now with all this said, I HOPE I MAKE IT TO MY CRUISE IN ONE PIECE!!! We leave tomorrow morning on Allegiant and this is to convince myself that everything will be just fine......(yn)

  3. Thanks for all this knowledge. I have found several sites and this makes sense since I was tracking Oasis for my cruise in 2 weeks (ish) to see what side of the ship I would be able to see lighthouses and islands etc, if that was even a thing, and which side we would dock on. I saw where Oasis made a stop in the Bahamas yesterday and on several sites, it is still there!! Even tho it is not. LOL

    Thanks again

  4. I'm thinking about doing this but can someone explain what this is?

I pay $20 per person, and pick the time?

Then RCI chooses one of the restaurants for us to eat at.

We eat whatever on the menu, do we pay anything extra or is it just the $20 that I prepaid?

Seems like a fun idea but I don't want to be suckered into having to pay more when I sit down.

  5. We had an anniversary a few years ago. When I booked the cruise I ordered decorations for the room and listed it as an anniversary and the date. I think it asked what day when asked if we were celebrating anything special. We never said anything else to anyone. To our surprise after dinner in the MDR, a dessert to share was brought with a chocolate happy anniversary was brought. Both waiters and the head waiter guy came over and wished us happy anniversary. Other than when I booked the cruise, we never told anyone else, or reminded anyone. They did that on their own.

I can see with so many people some might get overlooked. Like a previous poster, if you have the same wait staff everynight, tell them and they may do something. a special chocolate stick with happy birthday stuck on whatever dessert you order. It's not much but little things like that please me and hubby.

And like another poster, it will be what you make it. Have a relaxing time don't sweat it!!

    6 weeks and counting:D
