  1. We celebrated my mom's 60th on the Seaside and I was impressed with the quality and price of the birthday cake.  I would definitely do it again.

There was a table of senior couples near us and they got their free cake (with singing waiters) a few times during the week (they were likely all top status) and told us they just celebrate their birthdays a few months early.

  2. Yes, the balcony has a covered area / overhang (balcony above) plus the large open area.

There is a slight overhang to keep the sun from getting into the cabin, but you are pretty much out in the open.

  3. That's your chance to try something new then.

Actually menus look wonderful to me.

I agree. We were on the Seaside with 4 kids between the ages of 5-8 and all of them ate off the adult menu for every dinner in the MDR and loved trying new things.

If they can. Anyone can. Live a little. If you didn't like it head to the buffet afterwards.

  4. I soon realized that the notes were exactly, 100% Neil Diamond's 1972 hit, Song Sung Blue.

    YES! THIS EXACTLY!

Every time I heard it I would start singing. My wife and kids eyes rolled hard every time I did.

Glad I am not the only one who noticed this.

  5. We had 3 cabins in a row on the Seaside in February.

They refused to open them. Apparently our steward did it for some passengers on a prior cruise and got in trouble for doing it and therefore wouldn't do it for us.

  6. 1 - I can't remember.

2 - Yes. They are included.

3 - The MSC app does not have a chat feature.

4 - It includes the pictures taken of you by the ship photographers

5 - I don't recall there being a need to reserve lanes. However I am sure you can just go to the desk when the lanes are open and talk to the attendant

6 - I believe so. It wasn't available for prepurchase when we cruised.

  7. Looks like a silicon wristwatch. They are dark blue in color.

You can also take them on and off if you only want to wear it when you are lounging around in your swimsuit.

  8. The only reason I can think of for wanting there to be power in the cabin when it's unoccupied is to leave items on charge. However, this act poses a risk of fire (which is the reason why the slot system is in place) and is not permitted, so why would anyone want to do it?

    Exactly

There are 4 lights outside of each room that indicate DND, Make Up Room, Card in Slot and one other I cannot remember.

So leaving your key in the slot means you won't have your room cleaned unless you hit the make up room button. However if you do that the steward will simply remove the card and place it on your bed or somewhere obvious for when you return.

If you need to charge your devices other than at night, just bring a battery brick that you can plug into during the day.

  9. Most spirits were double measures also!

Or more. Many of the bartenders were were getting drinks from were doing a pretty generous free pour when making mixed drinks. Resulted in some pretty strong beverages.
