  1. Hi All.   Hubby and I are just about to book our first NCL cruise on the Escape for early next year.  We have never cruised with NCL before and am looking for any advice previous cruisers can give in respect of veggie/vegan options in the MDRs and in the buffet.

    In the buffet

(Q1) are items marked as veggie/vegan, or would I need to ask about each item?  IE chips - is it clear if they are cooked in a separate vegetarian fryer or fried in the same fryer used for fish/chicken etc?

(Q2) are cheeses used suitable for vegetarians (re rennet content).... eg if there is an alfredo pasta that has cheese but no meat/chicken in it etc.... is the cheese going to be a vegetarian suitable cheese, or if there is a margarita pizza slices available - will the cheese be suitable for veggies and clearly marked as this, or will I need to ask about the ingredients of each item?

(Q3) same goes for desserts in the buffet, are they marked as veggie/vegan and definitely not containing rennet in cheese (cheesecake/tiramasu etc) or gelatine in cakes?

    In  the MDRs

(Q1) is there a separate menu available featuring veggie/vegan items?

(Q2) is there scope to request things that are not on the menu if I give advance notice?

Thanks so much for all input 🙂

I live in Florida, and as of now, Covid 19 is out of control again.Stupid people refusing to wear a mask or partake in social distancing, and a governor who, like Custer, says move on at all cost.

Really sorry to hear how bad things have gotten in Florida.

the problem seems to be stemming from the attitude at the top down.

hopefully things will improve soon but in the meantime stay safe.

our travel company have just this week  allowed us to cancel this Ireland to All Orlando and then on to MSC Seaside trip in recognition of the dangers.

we look forward to visiting & cruising again in safer times.

  3. We are based in Dublin Ireland. Our cases started end Feb. We’ve had 25,000 cases of coronavirus and 1,600 deaths. Our government acted really quickly & we’ve been locked down since mid March. We are starting Phase 2 of reopening the country on Monday - ppl can travel up to 20kilometres from your house, meet in groups of up to 6 people and some stores are reopening in a limited capacity. Food stores have been open throughout but very limited access.  Ireland has done very well handling it, but I’m sorry to see the same can’t be said world over.

were due to cruise again in Sept, but hoping it gets cancelled as we don’t think this year is a good time to fly/cruise/vacation.

that said - can’t wait to get back to cruising - but only when it’s safe!

  4. We are also interested in this cruise.  Our agent has suggested we should be aware of the fact that the food is geared towards the Asian market, and that the casino's will be packed with big drinking gamblers.   Not sure thats enough to put us off booking.  Giving it serious consideration before the Royal Carribbean sale is over next week.

  5. Hi all I’m a first-time cruiser and a strict vegetarian.

I have concerns about dining on board the MSC Seaside and I’m wondering can anybody offer any advice in terms of vegetarian food and vegan food. I’m a strict vegetarian which means I have to be conscious of the rennet content in cheese. Not a lot of chefs pay attention to this and often mark dishes as vegetarian when they contain cheese that is not suitable.

Has anybody any knowledge of the cheese content being marked clearly on board the MSC Seaside?

I also don’t eat food fried in fryers used for fish/chicken etc.

All advice re possible menu options etc v welcome.

We are very excited to take our first cruise - can’t wait.

    Thank v much.
