We are on the 12/30 sailing on the Vista that was originally going to San Juan, Grand Turk, St. Kitts and St. Maarten. St. Maarten has now been replaced with Amber Cove. Carnival is resuming San Juan in a couple of weeks and St. Maarten in January. My understanding is that there is now power in San Juan and the city is open to tourists, however the rest of the island is still in bad shape.

Did you find this tour guide once you got off the ship or did you book ahead of time? T.i.a

We have also used Peat Taylor Tours multiple times on both cruises and resorts. Both Peat and "Repeat" are great guides. You will want to book in advance.

They do not move the elegant night, last year it was cruise casual although some did dress elegant just for the night. This year we are on Vista departing on 12/30 and the elegant night just happened to coincide with NYE this year.

Thanks for the link, checking for Elegant nights and just to see what else happening. They changed the itinerary last week and replaced St. Maarten with La Romana on 12/30 cruise we are on.

Day 1 - Embarkation

Day 2 - Sea day

Day 3 - La Romana

Day 4 - San Juan

Day 5 - St. Kitts

Day 6 - Sea day

Day 7 - Grand Turk

Day 8 - Sea day

Day 9 - Debarkation

I have searched the forums for the last hour with no luck, so I'm asking here.

Does anyone have the Fun Times for the 8 day Eastern cruise?

I place a six plug strip in with my CPAP machine and they always let it through as DW and I both have sleep apnea and the neighbors would not be happy if our CPAP's are not working. ;)

We have cruised NYE that last couple of years, there is usually free champagne and balloon drop at midnight. One night there is usually a white after party, not NYE though. Others on here would know more about the white night.

I dug around last night and again this morning trying to find which night is the Elegant night on the Ecstasy 5 day West Carib. Day 2 is Key West, Day 3 is Cozumel....going to assume that it is not Cozumel day since we are in port until late in the evening. Anyone know?

David thanks for this great and detailed review, one of the best that I have seen on these boards. My family and I are leaving on 12/29 for the western side on the Destiny and cannot wait until you get to that part of the review. :)
