  1. I'm due to set sale on my first cruise on Sept 30, and the Horizon reviews are starting to worry me. Does anyone have any advice on what to expect? Also is it really that bad? It's a brand new ship so I am shocked to see so many things this early on.

Its a great ship, read my Honest Review (Pros and Cons)...

  2. We did the Magic two years ago and we doing the Horizon next March. The few things that concern me about the Horizon in reading about is the Theatre (seating is not getting good reviews), the IMAX (we have a balcony cabin across the hall on deck 9) and the sheer size (# of people)....sounds like the seating in the comedy club can be a downside as well.

That being said, it is a new ship so I would lean toward the Horizon if the itinerary are the same.

The Magic has the nice tropical decor in many places (e.g. Lido market place). The Magic was last dry docked in 2016 so perhaps it will have one scheduled in 2019 or in 2020 before your cruise.

    Good luck with your choice!

Just sailed on Horizon (8 day Cruise), no worries its a fantastic ship. (Read my honest review. It has Pros and Cons (many more Pros). Its a very Fun...Ship. Plus we like Newer Ships...

  3. Smaller race track to take up less space with something I wouldn't want to do... Smaller spa to take up less space with something I wouldn't want to do... Concierge suites instead of studio cabins, offering more options for my family... American Diner instead of Margaritaville... They got rid of the Cavern Club... Looking forward to the Galaxy Pavilion... One person's negatives are another's positives. I'd take the Joy over the Bliss any day. We all cruise for our own reasons.

Yes, it seems that the "Galaxy Pavilion" would be a more American thing. I wonder why it was not put on "Bliss". I'm wondering if it will be on Encore ?

  4. Some one need to help write a Petition for NCL to bring NCL Joy to NYC. The current plan is to bring it to Seattle Washington along with BLISS. NCL should bring JOY to NYC Market to get the EAST Coast Market. The NYC (East) Market would greatly appreciate the ship. It does not seem right to have two of the same ships at the same port. It also would give the wonderful RCL Anthem some real competition:cool:. So cruisers start calling and writing NCL to get JOY to NYC...:ship::ship::ship::ship:
