  1. For a few pennies more, folks who feel a need to bring duct tape can purchase "gaffer" tape (at most hardware stores) instead (actually, if you need the tape, you can "borrow" it from the entertainment personnel on the ship). Gaffer tape holds as well as duct tape for most applications but leaves zero residue when removed.

Also, any contemporary smart phone has a flashlight, nightlight, alarm clock, camera (pix quality on iPhone 7+ and later models is excellent), and capability for TV remote app, off line maps, all essential travel docs, et al.

IMO, if you need OTD shoe hangers, extension cords (ship will provide for CPAP), etc., you're bringing way too much stuff.

After reading this thread I was about to respond as well concerning the cellphone being a source for many of these items. People forget there is a flashlight app for their phone. I use it ALL the time. Also, alarm clock. If you turn your phone "ON" while in port it will update to the right time. Take pictures of important documents with your phone...you can even email/ text the photo to yourself or to family members if you feel you will lose your phone!

  2. Question: I ordered individual wines from HAL Eurodam. One white and one red. It gave me an option to have it delivered to stateroom or dining room. Not knowing "which" dining room (newbie here) I chose stateroom. If I take these HAL delivered wines to the dining room from my stateroom will they charge me a corkage fee? If I had it delivered directly to the dining room at purchase would they charge me a corkage fee?

  3. Recent Vessel Sanitation Reports for all HAL ships - be sure to read the reports and the follow-ups to understand the nature of any violations and the details of these mandatory inspections - no wonder there are loud cheers from any ship that actually gets a 100 score: https://wwwn.cdc.gov/InspectionQueryTool/InspectionResults.aspx

Congratulations EURODAM for the perfect 100 score, and also those who got the near perfect 99.

Great news for EURODAM. This Registered Nurse likes this news.

  4. YouTube has a video of VT Spa room 11008 on Eurodam.
I had similar room 11004 about a year ago and see that they have two chairs and a table on the Juliet balcony. I had no table. Also, I loved the Bose music player, connected with Bluetooth. Enjoy the great location and view from your VT.

Glad to hear you liked your room on deck 11. And yes, I found that video as well on Youtube. Watched it several times. I know there are old pictures floating around of the indoor chair out on the balcony before they started supplying chairs. What I love about the location, from what I have observed in pictures, is how the "Julliet" balcony hangs out over the ship further than any other stateroom or deck. The view must be awesome.

  5. 1. If you have sailed on any Carnival Corporation cruise, you will be a HAL one-star Mariner and invited to the Mariner Luncheon near the end of the cruise. At the luncheon, you will receive a commemorative tile.

    2. Here is the Room Service Menu with only a few items having a charge:

The club sandwich is huge and very tasty.

Hello: I took Carnival Cruises 9 years ago, but did not say anything about it when I booked my HAL cruise for 4 Feb. I was able to find my Carnival member number just now. How can I get credit for this with HAL for the luncheon?

    Thank you in advance.

  6. Hello,

I sent an email inquiry about prices for 10 day cruise on Eurodam. I am a solo cruiser. This was the quote I received.

    Lido - $299/full voyage

    Retreat - $499/full voyage

Does that seem high? They also stated they rent by the cabana not how many people using cabana.

  7. Thanks for posting your positive review. I am going on HAL and Eurodam for first time 4 Feb 2018. Been on a few cruises but not in years. I was given a guarantee and ended up with a VT Spa Verandah. I have decided to accept my smaller balcony and enjoy the location of my room. I have read lots of reviews on the smaller balcony vs location and decided to make the best of it.
