What do you mean false?
I’ve heard from many people that it’s only if you have your own wine in a restaurant. And they don’t charge you when you’re boarding the ship. Can you please explain.

I sailed Epic a month ago and said I would never sail her again. But I saw a similar itinerary out of San Juan and thought about it for a week and decided I could sail on the Epic for that itinerary. I booked our cabin in an area where I now know it will be more convenient to the venues we will use, got a cabin with bed by the balcony and am hoping for the best. Our cabin last month had the bed closest to the door, we were on a cabin crawl, saw one with bed by balcony and it seemed a lot more roomier. Our room location obviously won't help with the long lines and crowds but I'm thinking with only one sea day it won't seem quite as bad.

How can you tell when you book that your cabin has the bed by the balcony??
We were on the epic and had the bed by the balcony and if we go again with our son (who will be 3 or 4 when we go) I would rather my bed be in between him and the balcony.

You don’t have to pay the corkage fee for bringing wine onboard if you open it yourself
Lol didn’t realize and didn’t wanna pay $15 to bring my own wine

3 speciality meals might be plenty plus you don’t need a package to do them. You can pay for them on their own as well. I was on the epic in January and we did 2 specialty dining nights and the rest at different complementary restaurants. So you don’t have to decide ahead of time

We went straight to headliners when we got on the ship to make tender reservations. I think hey start immediately because we still got tender #3 for each tender port
But I don’t know when they’d even check that we made them because they didn’t scan our cards until we were at the doorway to leave the ship and it would be chaos to send ppl away then.

The epic had zero IPAs... I didn’t have a beer until I was at the airport waiting for my flight... it was my one complaint about the ship

Food... I’m pretty picky about food so if there’s nothing I enjoy eating I’ll be stressed out my whole vacation

We did a sail away in Jan so we didn’t get any perks.. but it seemed like everyone else on the ship had the UBP. I think ppl are more likely to tip in cash that way so bartenders prob like it better since they don’t have to claim their tips anymore. And service seemed way better for those with it than it was for us!

We were just on the epic at the end of January and loved it. Everything I’ve seen complaints about I never experienced on the ship.
We also went to a couple shows and got to the theater within 10 min without reservations with no issues

I’ve done NCL in Bermuda for 3 days out of Boston.
I think they also do an overnight in Cuba

Was recently on the epic and we were only annoyed about the smoke while on casino floor (deck 6).
since the aft side elevator doesn’t go to 5, we would go to 7 and down the stairs near escalator to 5 so we would spend the least amount of time on deck 6. Didn’t notice it anywhere else.

We were on the epic at the same time and we didn’t have any issues making dinner reservations for two. I think we ended up making reservations every night but one and that one night we went to taste and were seated right away.
And all but 1 reservation were made on the ship. (And the one was the only specialty restaurant we did).
Also we got there around noon and had a wait to get on... but I heard from others on the ship that it was quick to get on at 2 or 3.

We had the same situation of ships leaving PC last month and getting there and leaving was fine. We took Uber there with no traffic and a bus we booked through the cruise line to the airport.

There’s an area above h2o by the fitness area / basketball courts that had open lounge chairs when everywhere is full and there’s mostly shady areas... also close to the food you can get at h2o

You can switch devices and I hadn’t even thought of the hot spot thing....
The internet is soooo slow though so I would definitely expect it to take him longer than expected to get anything done

Pretty sure that’s just their app... you can use it when you’re on the ship and connected to the wifi(don’t need the WiFi package for it to work)
I didn’t find it particularly useful.

We did Bermuda in early May some years ago, and it was a little cold. We left out of Boston and the entire time on the ship wasn't great because it's cold around Boston that time of year. Bermuda is basically off the coast of North Carolina, so it has similar weather... the warmest it got in Bermuda was 72 F while we were there. It was a good cruise, but I would think June would be a much better time to go.

None of the sail away categories include the special offers.
As far as I know, you end up with an enclosed balcony, it's not obstructed but doesn't seem worth it to me. I booked one and when I found out what it was I upgraded.

Spa rooms come with thermal suite access. It’s amazing! We had thermal suite on the epic from a spa balcony room and loved it!!! I didn’t notice any of the noise, but I’m also an early riser

I believe they were each about an hour. I did the 11pm Pricilla and think it finished around midnight. Both were amazing!
There’s different comedy shows on most nights if not all, and if you have the meal credits the cirque show counts for those.

We had a sail away balcony which I later found out was an enclosed balcony and were pretty bummed. I bid the lowest on everything (maybe a little over the lowest if it was $300 or lower)... we ended up with a spa mini suite balcony which was totally worth it!! I think the bid was around 350... and that’s less than the thermal suite would have been I think which we used everyday.
I do think it makes more sense to book the rooms with the perks tho cuz we wish we had ultimate beverage or something and you don’t get those with sail away or with upgrades

We did Dunn’s last week. It’s very crowded and we went up in a really big group. It was also seemed like a lot more waiting that doing... less active than I expected it to be, but still fun.
But we did a full day thing with bamboo beach and we’re “VIPs” at the beach after Dunn’s. We had an awesome day.
Definitely looking into the other one next time I’m in Jamaica now..

If I had only known... What do you wish someone had told you prior to your 1st NCL cr

Interesting because other people on my cruise and friends who’ve cruised before had different experiences.
But that’s what I had assumed was they’d charge you when boarding.
