  1. I rang up NCL today and agent booked excursions for us without having to pre-pay. When we are on board the OBC will then offset the cost

    CORRECTION

NCL just called me back and re- advised me that they just gave me the wrong advice!! To use the OBC I will HAVE to book onboard! If you pre-pay you won’t be able to use the OBC

  2. Definitely a live guide. We were fortunate in that our guide was a lifelong New Yorker and had a great knowledge of his city and its' history and enjoyed his life there. I think they need a minimum of 10 people signing up for the tour in order for it proceed and we were #9 and #10.

Wow that was lucky you had a local guide. There are 4 of us so hopefully there will be enough of other people. I am hoping to use some of our free at sea OBC to pay for this, but I think people have said can only book whilst on board paying by this method.

  3. I believe it was around 3:30-4:00. Disembarkation was delayed a bit and we left a little late. The first thing they ask when everyone is on the bus is which airport they are flying out of and what time are the flights. While on the tour I received notifications that our original flight was delayed and pushed back twice. We were still able to rebook an earlier flight back with time to spare.

That’s perfect timing as we would aim to be at JFK for 4pm.

Was there a ‘live’ guide on the tour or do they just give you like a headset like the ones they do on the HOHO buses??

The color of the coral in this area was just gorgeous!

Then I spotted a sea cucumber. I love these little no brain animals. Yes, they have no true brain and instead have a nerve "ring". They don't have eyes but have a mouth. One fact I bet you all always wanted to know is that it breathes by drawing water into their anus and expelling it. That's all I really remember knowing about them when I looked it up once I found my very first sea cucumber at Little French Key in Roatan a few years ago. LOL But I guess those are the only facts one really needs to know about these things right?

Notice how nicely my scar is healing up on my arm? I knew the salt water would do it some good and my only concern was how much it was going to sting...but it didn't, at all.

I took it over for the kids to see because Sakari is just like me and has great interest in everything salt water. She has held them before, she knows not to keep it up out of the water and to gently release it back to the ocean floor. She knows that if it gets flipped over by mistake that it can and will flip itself back over on it's own.

I still can't believe this child trust me to continue to put things from the ocean in her hands after our last adventure of me putting a bearded fire worm in her hand that gave her multiple stings that would last for a good hour of solid crying. Yep, this girl still trust me after that with no hesitation. Just saying...

Sea cucumber is a delicacy in Chinese cooking, highly prized 😊

  5. We took Heidi' s tour. It lasted over six hours. Very informative. Lunch and lighthouse included. We had 9 people on our tour. The van can feel tight especially if taller. You do get out frequently. My 12 year old daughter enjoyed certain parts and was bored with others. We tipped 10 percent.

    Hi

Have you still got contact for Heidi as when I did a google search I could not be directed to the booking page for her tours??

  6. We were on Deck 10. We loved the suite and would book it again any time. It was a longer walk to the elevators (every time you go/come from your stateroom). In "normal" seas, you don't notice the motion. In rough seas, you may get a little more motion. In very rough seas, you will get some noise from the bow being pounded by the ocean. For us, if the seas are rough, every part of the ship will be moving, and we would rather get that forward Haven stateroom than a mid-ship stateroom next to the splash academy on Deck 6

Thank you, what was the walk to the forward elevators like ? My mum has mobility issues and I was worried if it’s a long trek everyday for her. I am thinking of asking for a scooter for her but not sure what the space in the hallway is like?

  7. Hi, Bird. My wife and I and our two DDs are in 11706 (FF penthouse) on the Escape this September. Any tips/tricks/advice for us?

We were in a Haven spa suite on the GA earlier this year, so we are familiar with the Haven experience. Just wondered if there was anything specific to that class of rooms you found noteworthy.

    Thanks.

    Hi

Realised this is an old thread but we are booked in this same cabin this July from New York to Bermuda. How did you find the suite and what was the motion like as I can get motion sickness quite easily?
