We are booked on this trip and are learning that on July 4, Seward has a huge July 4 Mountain Run. Sounds like 20K attend. As a result, many tour companies are not offering their normal trips.

Think are only option is to take a bus that morning back to Anchorage. Don;t think there will be enough to keep up busy in Seward til 6pm to take the evening train. Thoughts from anyone on this?

Also, is there a bus company you would recommend using?

We are in Anchorage for one night after our cruise ends and before heading home.

Not sure which area would be better-to stay downtown, hotels seems older or closer to the airport. WE are thinking of taking a tour which will pick us up at our hotel.

Any suggestions?

We are in the final stages of booking our ak trip for June 2014. Based on your past trips and this is our first trip-would you recommend seattle rt or Vancouver to anchorage ? I love everything I read about the solstice.
