  1. Theres likely an event called dancing under the stars, normally around 1030, 11pm. In the cruise compass it may be listed as an evening activity rather than under the music and dancing section.

You may also have a second sail away party on your next to last day, in the evening after leaving your last port.

  2. + 1 for blue lagoon, beach break. Very nice area, relaxing. I think it's 5 hour excursion.

If you like snorkeling, look into Stuart's Cove on Nassau. Its a private excursion, not sold thru Royal's site. Snorkeling in 3 different spots & you can float near their boat as they dive down and feed sharks from a bait box. It is a 5 hour excursion with transport from pickup to drop off.

Or if you just want to relax, resort for a day is a nice option at the British Colonial Hilton.

  3. I recommend taking a 30oz insulated tumbler as well, double walled. Use for hot coffee in morning and cold beverages later. Outpreforms the freestyle tumblers at keeping your drink cold. Also good at night to keep ice water in.

Agreed that I wouldn't take a $30 + mug with me like a Yeti. Look for brands like Rtic or Atkin. Currently priced on amazon between 14 - 17 each.

  4. We had a PR cabin on LOS in Dec. We loved it. Deck 6 and yes we remembered to close the curtains. No noise at all but we were out and about on the ship when the noisy parades and events were going on.

The extra couch in front of the window was a plus and the cabin is a few feet larger than a standard interior cabin.

This is the 3rd time in a PR cabin, first on LOS and I would not hesitate to book it again.

I personally havent stayed in a Promenade room, but close family has. The noisy is slight when the parades go on, those were I believe around 11pm. The glass on the window is thick and insulated so not much noise other that noise during events. I'd personally still pack earplugs or use a white noise app on my phone just in case.

  5. If the Captain does a switch of Nassau and Coco Cay (determined by weather conditions) and you have something you booked and paid for in Nassau (not thru the cruise line) you would need to reach out to where you did your booking and see if they would alter the date.

This is good advice. I have a private snorkel booked this June through Stuart Cove, Nassau. Never have done a private excursion there before, other than a resort for a day on our own. Thanks!

I'm hoping to make Coco Cay in June, of course we'll have fun regardless. I get a chuckle out of those that give Coco a 1star review just because they couldn't make it.

  6. As Enchantment is a Vision class ship, I don't believe they have upgraded the splash area to allow swim diapers. These splash areas must meet stringent design, construction, and operation requirements to allow swim diapers.

    Agree

The Enchantment's splash area has no real boundry to keep children, if in swim diapers, from exiting and dipping their feet into the kids pool directly behind it. Hence why there's a rule for that. However parents will still let their small children in that area, I've never seen anyone enforce that rule or ask parents, Is your toddler potty trained. Not sure about any rules for bringing your own tub or small blow up pool.

Theres crew on the pool deck but please remember the Enchantment doesnt have lifeguards, so exercise caution when kids swim or babies splash of course.

  7. Its dependent on the weather in the morning and late afternoon, evening. If the winds are too strong and waters choppy the captain wont send the tenders.

The tender boats have to traverse through rocks and shallows near the coast, thats the biggest risk.

I recall that if a strong weather front is forecasted to pass through Florida prior to your day at CocoCay, the chance of missing it increases. Wind speed and conditions for the Caribbean can be checked on the NOAA website as well.

  8. I found this interesting blog post about the Cococay pier construction. If you look into the second picture you can see the progress of the sub decking "beams" being built on the pilings already.

Progress yes, but keep in mind this pier will have to be about 1,300 feet for oasis class ships to dock. Whats helping construction is the waters are very calm around Cococay.

Cruisecritic wont let me direct link, google "rc blog cococay construction" post is from Feb. 16
