Thanks for the response.  You are 100% correct.  If we used a package that include parking we could not use points and if we used points and paid for parking it would defeat the entire purpose ($34 a night for parking !), so we’re going with the Best Western Plus as normal.  I just can’t beat the price and convenience no matter how I try. Not only does it include parking but it includes shuttle service to and from the port so that’s where we’ll be - again !

RFerrington, which BW hotel is the one you stay at? we are looking to drive, stay and park before our cruise and were looking at the BW because of the price but can't decide between the two different ones.

its good to hear from someone that has actually stayed and would recommend...

    thanks

  3. Irie tours cancelled on us after not getting enough people on tour to Hato caves but they did us a favour after we picked up same tour in port for $25 plus $9 for cave entry. This included tour of town, drive to see flamingos plus drop off at lovely beach and pick up at a time to suit us. Highly recommend going with local tour at port.

Mcphee1, this sounds wonderful and the exact type of tour we would like. thanks for the suggestion. Hubby and I usually cruise alone but this year we have a total of 8 adults which should be fun.

Where abouts did you locate the local tour operators? right outside the cruise port? when last there I had arrange a tour myself which ended up being a private tour and was most wonderful. Wish I could remember the details as I would book him again in a heartbeat.

  4. We were in room 9293 on Liberty last sailing and it was our favorite cabin by far....so close to everything no noise and the bonus for us was there are two sets of glass sliding doors from the pool when you go thru the first one there is a door to the right and this lead into the hallway directly to.oyr room. NO ONE ever used this as they always went the normal path even the staff. So it was very quick and private as well as quiet.

  5. In addition to the shows, Conquest has a Comedy club with 2 shows nightly. I found the comedy shows to be fantastic. They are packed every night. You need to arrive 15 - 20 minutes prior to published show time. The daily comedy shows are an advantage for Carnival. I don't know of another brand that has comedy nightly. Enjoy!

I agree the comedy shows on Carnival are wayyyyyy better than other cruise lines, just hoping it's just as good in Sept when we set sail again.
