I'm not positive, but I think it's actually 50 minutes for $15, the other ten minutes are to get people out and the next group in.

Unless it's sold to capacity beforehand, I'm sure you can get tickets on the ship.

Wow, that's a lot of money. how many attractions / rides can you go on within the 50 minutes?

    ?

  2. Hi All,

Just got off the Allure yesterday and figured I'd pay back all the great info I received here by posting a PDF of the daily Compass newsletters (and the room service menus are at the end) for anyone going on the Allure Eastern Itinerary who is interested.

The file may be found at: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1P_V9qcx5Y6HVHBsk8aIgFuoBeSDsPv_6/view?usp=sharing

I hope the link works correctly!

I will write a review a little later, but this was my first time on Royal Caribbean, and it was honestly one of the best vacations I've ever had.

    Thanks everyone!

    Thanks, for posting.

  3. Guys, it was a simple question that I thought could be answered here quickly. If you're annoyed or amazed by the question, just ignore it! I thought the whole idea of this site was for transfer of information between people about cruising. I'm certainly more than capable and not too lazy to look elsewhere, but this is normally a site I like for questions and to give positive answers.

Thank You, I agree with you.

  4. Rather than shut down the Diamond Lounge, Royal should consider changing THAT perk — every generation becomes Diamond, Diamond +, or Pinnacle. No wonder it is becoming “unsustainable” for Royal. Maybe I’ve misunderstood. Are your children and grandchildren D+ only when traveling with you? Are my adult daughter and her children automatically lifetime D members, even though they’ve never stepped foot on a Royal ship? That makes no sense. (And now I’m going away for awhile to avoid the nasty onslaught headed my way, lol).

Try not to let things get to you.

Last year while cruising I meet a woman in the Diamond Lounge. She told me that she likes to start something on Cruise Critic. that she knows people will get upset about then just sit back and watch the shi storm.

  5. Looking for a review on this event.

Was it fun? Worth the money? How about the costumes?

On the fence about it. Sounds like it is a short evening.

    Thanks in advance!

We tried this event on the Allure and had a good time.We received a package in our cabin with a secret password and a pin that was in a small matchbox. There was a note that gave us the location and time where we were to meet and where we should wear the pin. They informed us that the cops might be hanging outside so we should be careful. Everyone got into the whole speakeasy. It was a good time. Everyone dressed up that night.

We tried it again when we sailed a year later. It was not organized. We did not receive a pin to wear at the speakeasy. We just received a note in our cabin telling us where to meet. Someone checked our names off a list. We stood in line until the opened the doors. We walked in and sat down. Not a lot of people dressed up. It was not as much fun as the first time.

  6. I'm sure that all of what y'all have been saying is true (about changes coming) but I will mention that when we were on the November 5 Rhapsody TA Barcelona to Tampa with 250 D&D+ they turned over the entire Shall We Dance Lounge for the Diamond hours so it wasn't horrible. Still pretty crowded but not bad.

When we sailed on the Adventure last year there was a lot of Diamond and Diamond Plus members. They just open another bar area outside the Diamond lounge. There was no problem. Plenty of bat tenders to take care of everyone.

  7. Chops was pretty abysmal...actually, just bad, with the exception of the mushroom soup, which was the highlight of the meal. I was disappointed that the onion soup was gone from the menu [emoji53]

DH has the crab cake and said it was also very good...

Then it was downhill all the way. I should preface these comments by saying I have eaten in Chops many times, on many different ships. It always has been just a bit more special... which, for the price, as it should be—in quality, presentation, atmosphere, and service.

My shrimp cocktail.... “where’s the shrimp”? Three little tiny things....

We got two plates of these sides for our table of 7....tator tots and Mac and cheese....seriously....not even enough tots to go around 🤪 the second plate had a different variety but how are these servings “family style” to feed seven people?!??

    6 ounce filet, also bad....

Finally, my dessert.....I always look forward to the beautifully presented desserts at Chops [emoji847]

Any guesses out there as to what this is? In fairness, it did taste good.

And the service was not horrible. So there was that. Didn’t complain because I didn’t pay full price since I had the D coupon, BOGO, but I will be sharing my thoughts on the post cruise survey.

In short, I do not recommend Chops. At least not on Allure.[emoji107]

WOW!!, What a difference. We ate at Chops on the Adventure and the Navigator last year. The food presentation was a lot better on the other ships. Thanks for the pics and info.

  8. My group did this last year. The walk is a bit long for inactive desk-jockeys like myself, but my DH (60+) and I (late 50's) managed OK. You do have to go outside the port. There are some stairs, and a hill to walk up on pavement before cresting the hill and walking down to all the non-cruiseline tour guides. I believe you can also get a taxi for $2.00 per person to drive you over the hill, but we did not do that and were fine. On the way back, however, they can go into the port and drop you off much closer. The tour itself was amazing! We loved the monkeys (they will climb all over you in the enclosure - got some great pictures and videos) and getting to hold a sloth was definitely a once in a life time experience. Daniel's group is very professional, they obviously love the animals they care for and I highly recommend this tour.

It sounds interesting. We'll check it out.

  9. My husband and myself have cruised RCCL without children and only DCL with children. Since RCCL was running a KSF special we decided to try and do a cruise with kids on board the harmony and or the symphony of the seas. Now because we have 3 children and need a cabin for 5 we are obligated to call and book our reservation instead of booking online. Tonight I spent 90 minutes on the phone with them! So frustrating and they assured me while they have balcony rooms that sleep 5 people they do not have any available on either ship in a 3 months span!! Needless to say this 3 month span is during hurricane season and also off season as well. There are many rooms advertised online as sleeping 5 people but when you try to book them with a rep, they state that 5th person has to be in a crib!!!

The cheapest room I could find for 5 people was over $6,000 and if we are spending that much we will just book Disney. We were looking to have a new experience and spend less money. Anyone have any advise that has cruised this line with larger families? When I ask what ships sleep that many in a standard room , they tell me the Oasis class.:confused: I then explain that I am trying to BOOK the OASIS class!! I am just so frustrated with the way this cruise line treats standard size families! Why can we NOT book our own vacations why must we call and endure the entire upsale process.

We wanted to take our 3 grandchildren on a cruise. Had the same problem as you. I priced out 2 cabins next to each other that was expensive. I am looking into another cruise line.
