  1. I am taking a Wine cruise with Avalon at the end of the month. According to our paperwork, the TVG takes us from Paris to Dijon. To those who have taken this cruise before, is there time in Dijon for sightseeing and/or shopping? I would love to bring back a mustard pot if at all possible. It is not clear to me how long we have there.

  2. We loved the Carlton International, we added a day to get to see a little bit of Cannes.

Its location is superb, the beach and the promenade La Croisette is a few steps from the hotel , you can just sit and watch the world go by if you wish.

A few moments walk to the left as you come out of the hotel is a restaurant called Le Vesuvio, we went there both nights because the food was spectacular and so much fun.

The highlight of the stay in Cannes was a train trip(train station is a ten minute walk) to the medieval village of EZE, we had a great day there. Have a great cruise. Cheers Dan

Thank you fellow Canadian. I was hoping to find out about places to eat near the hotel and EZE sounds wonderful. I will pass the info on to my travel buddies.

  3. Thank you for your reply. I did check that website and it shows that, historically, it is around 15 to 20 C. .......I guess that is not beach weather.

Yes we will be at the Carlton Intercontinental. What did you think of it as far as it's location and nearby food? I'm looking forward to it.

  4. Still no news from HAL. I agree with others about ordering flowers while on board. I know it can be done. I've done it myself and I can not believe that all the arrangements are sold in advance. There must be some extras for special occasions that arrise while cruising. I am very disappointed. They are not due back until May 10th. It seems a long time to wait to do something.

  5. Thank you all for your responses. I called Customer Service again today and this is what I was told.

    1. the is no florist on board the ship anymore

    2. orders have to be placed 48 hrs before departure

    3. the best they could do was contact the ship directly to see if they could do anything and will call me to let me know the cost etc.

I will let you know when I hear back from them.

My other thought was contact a florist at their first port of call to see if they deliver to the ship. Has anyone done this?

  6. I did call customer service and they told me there is no florist on board this ship. It's the Noordam going to the South Pacific, an area rich in tropical flowers. I have trouble believing they do not have flowers on board ship. I ordered some for my own stateroom last summer with no problem at all.
