Here's a link to the limited Maui Bus system if you want to consider that option.
Thanks for this. I will look into it as my friend and I do not want to drive. Cruisfan

Thank you both for your replies. Perhaps we can find someone to share a cab with us.

That's too bad. We were hoping to spend some time on the beach. The NCL tour is $ 92. but now I understand why if it's that long a cab ride. Thanks for the answer.

I am coming ashore at Kahului. Are there cabs at the port? Are there tours you can take from the port? Thank you

How easy is it to get a cab to a beach in Maui, which beach would you recommend and how much would the cab fare be? Cruisfan

Thanks. I will look into this.

Can you do that from the port or should I book ahead? Cruisfan

Can someone tell me what the distance is from where NCL moors in Maui to the village of Lahaina? Are there cabs at the pier or organized tours? Trying to plan my upcoming trip but don't want to pay NCL prices for that tour.

I am going to Hawaii at the end of the month. Will NCL go anywhere near where we might see this? Having never been there before, I have no idea where the ship sails.

Thank you both for your replies. A bit disappointing as I had hoped we would have some time in Dijon but at least I will be able to get mustard in other places.

I am taking a Wine cruise with Avalon at the end of the month. According to our paperwork, the TVG takes us from Paris to Dijon. To those who have taken this cruise before, is there time in Dijon for sightseeing and/or shopping? I would love to bring back a mustard pot if at all possible. It is not clear to me how long we have there.

EZE is not a restaurant! It is a village that they went to on the train.
Thank you. I was aware that EZE was a village and hope to get there on the second day of our stay in Cannes.

We loved the Carlton International, we added a day to get to see a little bit of Cannes.
Its location is superb, the beach and the promenade La Croisette is a few steps from the hotel , you can just sit and watch the world go by if you wish.
A few moments walk to the left as you come out of the hotel is a restaurant called Le Vesuvio, we went there both nights because the food was spectacular and so much fun.
The highlight of the stay in Cannes was a train trip(train station is a ten minute walk) to the medieval village of EZE, we had a great day there. Have a great cruise. Cheers Dan
Thank you fellow Canadian. I was hoping to find out about places to eat near the hotel and EZE sounds wonderful. I will pass the info on to my travel buddies.

Thank you for your reply. I did check that website and it shows that, historically, it is around 15 to 20 C. .......I guess that is not beach weather.
Yes we will be at the Carlton Intercontinental. What did you think of it as far as it's location and nearby food? I'm looking forward to it.

I'm doing an Avalon wine cruise at the end of the month. Just wondering what the weather might be like in Cannes when we disembark on Nov 6th as we are spending an extra day there.

Hi Fuelscience,
Can you tell me which hotel you were at in Paris? I will be sailing with Avalon in October and the hotel is not yet confirmed.

Thank you so much for this as I am also doing a wine appreciation cruise. This is great. Now I can really start dreaming about my trip.

Still no news from HAL. I agree with others about ordering flowers while on board. I know it can be done. I've done it myself and I can not believe that all the arrangements are sold in advance. There must be some extras for special occasions that arrise while cruising. I am very disappointed. They are not due back until May 10th. It seems a long time to wait to do something.

Thank you all for your responses. I called Customer Service again today and this is what I was told.
1. the is no florist on board the ship anymore
2. orders have to be placed 48 hrs before departure
3. the best they could do was contact the ship directly to see if they could do anything and will call me to let me know the cost etc.
I will let you know when I hear back from them.
My other thought was contact a florist at their first port of call to see if they deliver to the ship. Has anyone done this?

I did call customer service and they told me there is no florist on board this ship. It's the Noordam going to the South Pacific, an area rich in tropical flowers. I have trouble believing they do not have flowers on board ship. I ordered some for my own stateroom last summer with no problem at all.

I have friends who are presently cruising and he just lost his mother. I would like to send flowers but was told by Holland America that I could not do that. However, I know that you, as a passenger, can order flowers. Has anyone done this before and how do I proceed?

I was wondering the same thing. It will be Mardi Gras during our cruise and there is a bar called Mardi Gras on the ship. Perhaps they will do something there. Cruisfan
