Thank You Thrak for the recommendations - Sounds like something her daughter and husband would like.  They are going there with friends just to fish. 

My Cruise buddy and I are booked on the Golden this summer for a two week cruise out of San Pedro.  Her daughter and son-in-law are going to be in Ketchikan the same day we are there.  She was wondering if they could come aboard and visit us on the ship.  Good question and I have no idea,  but I am sure someone on this board will know.

Thank you for posting that, it was very interesting.  Not surprised it happened in Cozumel, seems like we see more ships in port there than anywhere else.  

Went into my Princess account and it said "20 total cruise sailed" so my next cruise on Nov 2nd should be my 21st cruise and I should get an extra $25.00 obc.  I took a screen shot with my phone so I could have verification.  Wonder why I never knew this before.....😎 

Thank everyone for your input - I did want to let everyone know that I got  a call from the Customer Relations Dept about my friends problem and my long hold time.  A lovely lady named Kim H. is going to help them with getting the cruise booked that they want and also get him his military credit.  She could not have been nicer.  Since I cruise with Princess a lot, it just made me feel good that they did this.          

I called the Princess 800 number this morning to ask them a question for a friend of mine who is 90.  He can not find his DD214 and his records were destroyed in a fire at the records center many many years ago.   He wants to go on the Royal on Nov 2nd.  I gave them his Captains Circle number and they found him in their records.   He wanted to know if there was any other way to verify his military service.  They put me on hold so they could contact another department.  I was put on hold for over 1 1/2 hours, they came back on twice to tell me they were still checking.  Since I have a life, I had to finally hang up but I am really unhappy with their customer service.  Is this normal??

We are on the Star Princess 15 day Dec. 19th Hawaii Cruise and just took an upsell that took us from an obstructed oceanview to a balcony on the Caribe Deck and we paid $249 each. It is in the exact location we like and we are going to love the extra room on the balcony.

That is the best news because we took a later flight so we could do a city tour, with transport to Airport since my DIL has never been to Seattle. :D

We are on the Solstice at the end of August and would love to use this service but our Southwest flight does not leave until 5pm. Is this to late in the day to do it?

If the ship offers it we do it because we love the crab legs and jumbo shrimp. When we order we tell them that is all we want - with some corn and boiled potatoes. On our Panama Canal cruise we went twice. For us it is worth the cover charge!!:D

Now I remember why I love this TA - after getting my e-mail she got on the phone with Princess and got us a real upgrade (inside to full ocean view) plus an extra $125 OBC. The best part it is on Plaza Deck which is our favorite. Bless her heart!!

I paid my final payment and went into the web site to finish paperwork and found they had given me a 1 cat upgrade, no big deal except no one told or ask me. That is the part of it I found so strange, because I have cruised a lot and never had this happen. I booked with my TA, not princess but won't have any answers until she answers my e-mail asking her about it.

We were on the QM2 last April coming from London to New York and hit some VERY rough weather and were VERY glad that we were on a Ocean Liner and not a cruise ship!!!

We just got off the Ruby this last Saturday and I must say a lot of things were just a little off. The food in the Buffet was hit and miss, had some food that was cold, which should have been hot and some was just plain nasty. Had one really good dinner in the dining room. Also going to the dining room was a hassel because they kept changing the location. Changing the dining room from deck 5 and 6 mid-ship to the dining room in the back on deck 6 which I find hard because I can't walk stairs, so had to do the elevators which I waited a long time for. Several time we went one place and was directed to go to the other. This was my 15th cruise on Princess and have never experienced that. The staff was wonderful except for one guy at the pursers desk who was down right nasty and I expect won't be there long. This was my 2nd 4 day cruise and I don't think I will be doing another one anytime soon.

Just got off the phone with my lady at Princess. Did manage to get one of my favorite cabins on the Plaza deck and it did cost me a little more than usual but not having to fly and, stay over night in hotel before cruise, makes it so worth it for me. I have never booked a cruise this far out before so it will be interesting. She did say that this was a test to see the amount of interest in this itinerary and so far so good...........:D

Read your post and had to tell you of our experience on the QM2 in May. My friend Bev and I booked a cruise from Southampton to New York in May and was using it as a way back from a TA that we had done from Houston to Southampton. We both have cruised a lot but never been on Cunard. We LOVED every minute of it. It was like stepping back in time when cruising was very special and elegant. We could not wait to sail on her again so we booked the Sept 27th cruise to Canada and back. Now we can't wait to see her after she has been in dry dock for a refit. We did dress for the theme nights and that was so special. Personally I think it will be hard to so back to a mass market cruise after being on one of the Queens. :D

When we got off the QM2 last month we decided to just take a cab to our hotel near LaGuardia Airport - we ended up in a Yellow Cab and the driver took us by way of downtown Manhatten , were we sit in traffic forever and by the time we got to our hotel - over an hour later our fare was 75.00. I was in the back sit saying along that I knew this was not the way to go but he ignored me. My recommendation - do anything but take a Yellow Cab.

Two years ago someone here posted a recommendation for a travel hair dryer. I want on Amazon and got it and now never travel without it. Its really small and the handle folds down and its really powerful for the size. Its a Babylisspro and I paid $24.99 for it. I travel a lot and hate leaving the fate of my hair to whatever hairdryer the hotel and cruise cabin might have......:eek:

I have been on both and I would choose the Getaway but I didn't travel with children.....For me a little old lady - on the Getaway we saw one of the best shows I have seen on any ship - Burn The Floor!! Also loved the casino and the Spa (had a Spa Suite) and had lots of great places to eat....There is a place to eat right in the middle of ship that serves comfort food - loved it and ate a lot of meals there. I only went to the pool area once and found it very crowded but did mange to find a spot (not near the pool) to get a little sun....Hope this helps.................

I am going on the Brilliance on a 14 day TA cruise and I am wondering if they won't be more because of the length of the cruise?? Those seems like really good rates to me.........

My boyfriend sent me flowers last March when I was on the Grand and they were beautiful and stayed good thru the whole 7 day cruise. They were in my cabin when I got on board. Wish I could have taken them home but I was flying back to Vegas and couldn't......:(
