  1. We've got a box of these - available on Amazon - made of corn starch - biodegradable & they only have a slight matte finish compared to plastic straws;

Webake 100% Compostable Jumbo Straws, 9 Inch Long Drinking Straw Eco Friendly Plant-based PLA, Plastic Alternative Straws for Drinks Smoothie Shake Slushie, Pack of 100 Individually Wrapped

  2. I've been bringing these with me...

...from Amazon.  They're made of corn starch - have a very slight, not annoying, texture to them - almost as smooth as a plastic straw.  I've never had one get soggy on me but they are biodegradable.

Some people appreciate fast service, smiling face, a nice "hi, how are you today". Some know that this guy has been working since 7am and will be working the majority of the day so that I can stuff my face with burgers and get sloshed on long island ice teas and have a clean bathroom and bed to crash on at the end of the day.

Tipping is personal. That's really all there is to it.

  4. The last time a casino host tried to give me a Drinks on Us card when I already had Cheers, I asked for and received a voucher for a free Steakhouse Selections in the MDR.  Not as nice as a free Steakhouse dinner but, still something.  (Maybe I'll shoot for the Steakhouse next time 😁)

  5. ...this is from their Room Service page...

"In addition to food items, beverages from the bar may be ordered through room service including beer, liquor and wine by the bottle (which is limited to two bottles per day and must be consumed in your stateroom)."

We might need an English major to parse out why there's no comma after the mention of liquor - Does that mean that liquor and wine can be purchased by the bottle with a two per day limit?  Or, is the two bottle per day limit only for wine and liquor is "by the individual drink"?

Why is there a two bottle limit for Fun Shop? If we have a clear, definitive answer for that then it might shed light on the question. (I have seen a lot of educated guesses, but none of us works for Carnival in the area where this rule was made so none of us know with 100% certainty.)

(And the only reason that I know that this is available through room service is because I've read it here, nothing about it on their website or on the ship, so it's not something they are publicizing at all.)

From Carnival's Liquor & Beverage policy...

    The Fun Shops (pre-cruise orders)

All products sold containing alcohol have a limit of two products per booking

Still haven't found anything that says that I can't order more bottles from room service.  🙂

  7. This may have already been answered in some form or fashion - if it was, I missed it.

Can we both a.) pre-order two bottles for our room and, b.) order two more bottles from room service later on in the cruise?

If so, I'd consider not getting Cheers (realizing that it would be a hassle though)

Is it ok for just one in our party to have the boarding pass on their phone or does each person need one?  I can still print a hard copy.

Last June - in Galveston - policy may have changed since then - I printed out both my wife's and my boarding passes on the same piece of paper - one on each side.  They wouldn't allow this for some reason so they had to print out new, individual ones for us.  So, I could see them not allowing multiple boarding passes on one phone (if last year's policy still stands).

We never had a problem leaving everything out in the open. We always leave our laptop, iPad, and cells out. One morning, not realizing it, i left $300 in $25 chips on the dresser, amazingly (not really) the money was still there when we got back from breakfast.

On my last cruise - last night of the cruise - the steward cam by to say good-bye - I din't have any cash so I dug some casino chips out of my pocket - he stepped away & put his had up saying, "no, no, no, I can't accept those".  It's understandable if casino wait staff has chips but a cabin steward having them is a big no no!

  10. Good morning all of you helpful cruisers. Second cruise coming on June 9 - first time poster.

I had already made my final payment for my June 9 cruise when I got a snail mail offer for a Premier Cruise for that particular cruise - promo code PC5 - discount on state room (ended up being ~ $150) and $700 Casino Cash.

I called the 800 number and asked if I could be re-booked under that promo code. They worked it out with me over the phone & everything seemed fine...until the next day when I checked my account - I had a balance due of $36.

Another call to the 800 number - I was informed that I really should go directly to the casino promotions department to make this kind of change - so, they forwarded me on to them. Their initial response was, "we can't do that" - but, after they put me on hold for a while, the came back to say that they would make an exception & I'd have the discounted state room - as on board credit - and the Casino Cash. The cabin confirmation email reflected the OBC but no mention of the Casino Cash.

Now my online account does not show any OBC or mention any Casino Cash. I've read several accounts of mix ups with Casino Cash - should I call back to confirm? Or, is this normal for it to not show on your online account?

    Any advise is greatly appreciated!

    Thanks,

    Tom O.
