  1. For me, and your mileage may vary, the premium package is worth it for the convenience. I do drink a lot more than I would if I didn’t have it because I would be watching my costs. With the package, I already budgeted it. I’ve also ordered drinks I would not normally order because if I don’t like them, I can just get something else.  I can order a scotch and not guess if I will have to pay extra.  And since my wife loves martinis, we’d be paying a few dollars for every drink if we were on classic.

  2. We only received two bottles of wine today, not two per person (even though we both purchased the package). We had major issues getting the minibar restocked on Infinity. I spoke with the bar manager and he said the minibar manager was new to Celebrity and they had some process issues with coordinating when to come into the stateroom. Shoreside also confirmed issues on Infinity and Silhouette.

We paid $90 to upgrade from premium. We won about $15 in the casino. The two bottles of house wine were probably worth no more than $20 each.  The wine tasting would probably have cost $30 a person based on what they charge for other tastings and the wines there were good and unlimited for an hour.  So it was worth the price. (And my wife could get her Diet Coke each night without having to go to a bar).  Four little bottles of Tito’s came home with us the last night.

  3. We have a five-night cruise booked on Celebrity Infinity in two staterooms. One was a GTY and one wasn't (not sure why because we don't remember booking GTY for either, but that is not the issue).

When we booked it, we selected all four "perks".  Over the weekend, when our second GTY room was assigned, we decided to change our stateroom using the "Change Stateroom" under "Manage Reservation". At first we just were going to move to the same category to a room closer to the GTY but we looked at the costs for moving to a verandah room and the cost seemed reasonable, so we selected to change.  We never received a confirmation from Celebrity but three days later, received a notice saying we owed money for excursions we had booked using OBC.  When I called to inquire, I learned our new room did not include any of the perks.  (Bear in mind, we had paid additional for the four perks).

At no time did the website indicate the perks would be removed.  We expected to have to pay the current rate for the verandah room (including perks) but the website should have been said the price offered didn't include the perks purchased on the previous reservation.

We were able, after some discussion, get Celebrity to just reinstate our original reservation.  But wanted to let people know to watch for this if changing a reservation online.  (Yes, and I know I should have called, but it seemed so easy.  But nothing on the Celebrity website is ever easy).
