  1. These are small villages along the Amalfi Coast, it's pretty darn hard to get lost.

The easiest way to travel during the season is by water but, at least as far as I know, there are no organized tours using the ferries, you'd have to DIY. It's awfully easy to do.

    Thankyou. Any village suggestions appreciated

  2. Do you have a separate stop in Naples? We did not, so we took a tour of Vesuvius and Pompeii.

Salerno was a beautiful port to sail in and out of.

Yes we dock Naples and Salerno and are doing the Amalfi coast tour which is why we are looking at other options for Salerno, any suggestions welcome

  3. good evening. We are visiting Athens for first (and maybe) only time in July.

    We are considering 3 options

    Cruise excursion

    Greece private tours

    DIY

We usually prefer to do our own thing, not big on scheduled tightly, history or architecture but maybe in this case need that to see as much as we can

Concerns... if we DIY will we waste time finding things and not really getting enough understanding of what we are seeing

Deciding between cruise tour and private we are vacillating..

Greece private tours slightly more expensive and seems to be similar to princess cruise

Really looking for advice of those who have been before and could recommend

    All replies appreciated

  4. I was looking into excursions from Salerno too. It seems there are more Almalfi Coast and Capri tours from Naples, even though Salerno is closer to the Amalfi towns. If you’re still looking at options, I did see a tour on CBM (Cant Be Missed) tours that takes you to Capri and the Blue Grotto for 135 euros. I found this company to be highly recommended on these boards. I think the tour left at 8:00 and returned at 4:30 with claims to guarantee you back in time.

Can you tell me the name of that tour or where I can find the can’t be missed section please

  5. hi. We are docking in Salerno but I can’t seem to access any information.

Any suggestions of things to do

Considering a day trip to Capri...can we DIY from this port

    Thanks in advance

  6. Hi all, after researching our upcoming port visits I have some queries I need assistance with.

We are 55 yo. Love culture, nature, scenery, easy pace, walking, not so much into history.

July cruise to following port queries

    1. Messina... how easy to DIY. What options of things to do. How close is it to town from port. Finding very little info

    2. Athens... How easy is it to get to city from port and do HOHO bus tour? A good way to go or better to do ship tour and go out further

    3. Santorini...how easy to DIY to Oia. Enough to do on our own without tour?

4.salerno...limited info. What are the things to do here DIY?

    Thanks in advance :)

  7. hi everyone.

we are doing the Adriatic/Aegean medley cruise in july from rome to Barcelona.

ports of visit are: salerno, kotor, corfu, crete, Mykonos, Piraeus, santorini, messina, and naples.

we are after information about shore excursions - specifically:

    • which ports are easily accessed by foot into the centre
    • which ports can we easily do our own thing or relax, wander in town
    • which ports are worthwhile doing a tour in
    • princess shore excursions or do our own, if our own recommendations of tour companies

we would really like to see the alfami coast, any suggestions on best way to do this

    thanks in advance, christine
