  1. 72 days until the Silhouette ABC's  !!

Please settle this for us... I thought I saw this written somewhere but can't find in a search.

If I have a Classic Beverage package as a perk, but want a large martini or a shot of Patron ( I will) ....

Can I just pay the difference for the upgraded drink ??   OR Do I have to upgrade to premium in order to get the premium drinks?

    Thanks in advance ...

    Elaine & Mark

  2. Just booked a great Labor Day Sail/Sale for Feb 14,2020. 9 day Southern.

I just saw that Silhouette is scheduled for Drydock January 20th, 2020

Am I set up for heartbreak for my Valentines cruise ? Or is drydock just a couple of weeks ? Any help appreciated - I don’t want to fret for the next 18 months 😉. Thanks

  3. We've also been AQ cruisers since the Solstice ships set sail years ago. Upcoming Feb 11 is our last Solstice Cruise - Sillouette ( next year will be on Edge ) But after last year, we decided no more AQ since we had such a disappointing experience in BLU - same complaints as above. Always moving us around - never had same waiter which was a feature we loved. And the fact that over several years, the menu NEVER changed ! Even the stale crudite and bread basket on the table was the same every year !! We ended up in specialty most nights during our last winter cruise. This year - we left AQ, opted for A1 Hump Balcony - and we'll specialty dine. Less money and more selection.... We booked Alcoves with some of the money we saved ! Bon Voyage to all - - And Can't wait to sail the Edge next February !

  4. Just got off the Reflection ( 1/25) Still rocking a little !! Will write a complete review later ( it was an awesome trip ). But I wanted to post an answer to this ...

The Upgrade is so worth the $161.50 - we drank that in the first day :D:eek: - - - Just remember to say that you want Grey Goose, Ketel One , Crown Royal etc. to ensure that you're getting the premiums !

The bartenders were more than happy to oblige, but they DO look at your cards before they pour ( and they pour heavy!) We found that Sunset Bar had the least options of premiums - and often ran out of beer choices. The Martini Bar and the other nice inside bar on 3 were always well stocked.

Because of the promos, the bars all over the ship are REALLY busy all the time, so a little patience is in order ! The bartenders worked harder than normal all week ! I definitely noticed a shortage of bar backs -- especially at the martini bar. The bartender had to run out back to get martini glasses almost every time he made drinks. They were not as entertaining as they've been on past trips, I only saw one of the special pours ( 8 martinis at once) These guys were truly overworked ! BUT they all make an amazing martini every time ! Thanks boys for a great week !

At dinner, be sure to order wines by the glass ( it doesn't matter if you finish 2 bottles of wine, just be sure to order by the glass). People that we were with had issues with them charging for bottles and had to go and have the bottle charges removed because they were on the premium package... We were also charged for beer a couple of different times even though we had the Premium package. Keep an eye on your account. Guest relations had no issues refunding the charges.

Fortunate for us, we got the Classic as part of the promo and only had to pay the upgrade-- We've already booked for next year because the promo is offered again now... 3 Reflection trips down and they just get better !

  5. Here's the newest version including all the Eclipse cabin postings. Thanks to all who are noting ship name.

If you would like an Excel version, please email me.

Hi - Can't seem to fnd your email addy for an excel request.. Please email it to me @ rubyslippers@gmaldotcom

Booking Feb 12, 2011 AquaClass on Eclipse....

    Based on this spreadsheet -

The best rated " humps" Seem to be gone on my cruise 1604-06.08-10 1601,03,05

So of course want next best ...

Want - quiet from above , no obstructions... Anyone have suggestions ? Love to hear em !!

Past 2 years we've sailed the Solstice in January -- Very excited to upgrade to AQ this time around... Just bought my air.. Waiting to book cruise in hopes to read more reviews of AQ rooms.. Was bummed I couldn't get a hump this early ....

  6. Just got back from the 1/25/2009-2/01/2009 sailing ....FABULOUS !!

If you're looking at a picture of the Solstice - This cabin is the 6th one from the front on the starboard ( right) side - it's the balcony Directly over the letter C in SOLSTICE ( written on side of ship) ....

An unobstructed view that looked straight down into the water... MANY straight down views were blocked by lifeboats... :(

This cabin was great !! Not too far from elevators, but far enough that you didn't have a ton of traffic. Michelle R. was our steward - Best steward we've ever had - she greeted us by name the whole cruise - would see us coming and open the door for us !!

This cabin is in the front where the theater and the casino is down 2 flights -.. Could not hear a peep from the theater during showtimes while in cabin ...

Food is on the opposite end of the ship.. If you like a good walk and some stairs for exercise ( to go to buffet on 12 ) ( we do ) then, it's a great cabin..

    Deck - 6

    Cabin # - 6112

    Class – 2B

Starboard or Port Side - Starboard

Bed near?(balcony or bath) – balcony

Quiet Cabin (With comments on problems. Note if connecting. ) – yes- except remember cruise doors slam heavy - especially when teh veranda doors are open -- That can't be helped... But other than that - - very quiet.. No squeaking either)

Balcony View - Give comments on view, noting if location of any obstructions was an issue. –

See above - - -I truly thought one of the best locations for a veranda

Balcony Size? Normal or oversized for class? - Normal.

Was wind a problem? Was windy first and last day - but not an issue of the ship ... Just a windy/choppy day !

If an aft cabin, was soot a problem? n/a

Any specific problems with this cabin? None !! wait - bring a makeup mirror... No magnifying make up mirrors in room ( which I thought was odd - every other line has them)

Any other comments? Stinks to be home :(
