  1. I thought it was the Liquid Lounge (the main theater) that they used for the night club at night? That’s why people hate the Liquid Lounge on the Vista. Because the seats on the bottom level are moveable to make room for the night club at night.

All I can tell you that on our 8 day this past November .... The limelight was used a night club. Security was stationed outside by the door. I passed it nightly returning from the Casino or Sports Bar

Here is proof off of You Tube from a cruise last month

  2. Yes, there are many tables for 2. You can also ask to be seated in a certain waiters section if you find one you like and I think you get better service as the get to know you. The anytime dining is in its own section of one of the main dining rooms.

Based on what I read and viewing some pictures..... The tables for 2 are separated by 4 inches....LOL Best bet is to see if they have any tables for 2 against railings or walls....Those are true tables for 2!!

  3. Can someone help me out with this...I just logged into my account for my sailing this July on the Seaside and found that they have changed the Internet packages. Neither option mentions streaming anymore? I need to be able to video chat or FaceTime my kids at home while on board. Any suggestions?

Notice the Premium package says "full web access"...which means you will be able to view video. Therefore streaming should also be available.

  4. I've been watching JH's horizon videos this week. I'll be interested to see if they improved the liquid lounge when he gets to it. He did limelight this morning and mentioned it will double as the nightclub instead of liquid so maybe they improved the seating in liquid lounge. So unless they change the comedy times I guess the nightclub won't open until well after midnight...and if I"m seeing it right there won't be a bar in the nightclub either.

Thats no surprise...Limelight doubled as night club when we were on the Vista!? After comedy show it opened around 11:30pm And yes there is no bar in Limelight...They roll in a cart...similar to how you get drinks at a Hotel banquet

  5. I use neither...do it myself via 3rd party internet agencies (so technically I guess you could call them a TA). Once I book ...I have access to my booking on-line. Thats all I need. Out of 20 cruises I think I emailed my internet agency 2x..... Never have spoken on the phone to anyone. I guess I'm not needy??? LOL

  6. Thanks for the update!!! Glad your enjoying your cruise. We will be boarding Seaside upon your return. Enjoy the remainder of your cruise especially since a foot of snow is heading your way up north!!

  7. Its very simple.

If you do not want babies or children

Change to an adult only cruise.

And if you are going on MSC, YC, NCL, carnival, RCI, be ready to have some crying babies In your cruise.

    Like it or not.

    Just be ready.

Are you going to ask the Buler's to provide you ear plugs?? Might as well, since you will be ordering them to do everything else. Couldn't resist after reading through your other post on YC perks :D:D:D:D

  8. For any UK guests booked via MSC USA (or via a US TA), MSC USA will no longer accept UK credit cards for any form of payment. I’ve been trying to add drinks packages to an upcoming booking that was made via a US TA with no success - payment declined. Today I called their US call centre to be informed that they no longer take UK cards. They assured me the card would be accepted onboard however I’ll be hit for the additional 15% gratuities that I could have avoided if they would let me pre-pay.

It’s my first booking with MSC and so far it’s been a fight

Is there a reason you didn't use MSC (UK/European) site?

  9. My 2 cents coming from NCL...

The Vista/Horizon issues remind me a lot of the NCL Breakaway class ships. Big ships with a lot of people. They divide those ships into many small venues in order to advertise that there's "more to do." The problem is anytime a lot of people want to do the SAME thing at the SAME time, it gets too crowded. The pools and theaters on the Breakaway are too small IMHO. I sailed her twice and probably wouldn't do a third unless things change. I'm scheduled to go on the Horizon, which may leave some scratching their head why I would do that considering my experiences on the Breakaway. I booked a Havana Cabana. Therefore, I have exclusive access to the pool area at the aft of the ship. The cabanas have a patio area. On NCL, the closest to that would be the Vibe, which costs extra and sells out quickly. I don't relish the crowds, but I'm willing to give it a go. This seems to be the future of cruising, so might as well find a way to make the best of it.

You made a awesome choice...Havana is the way to go!! My wife and I cruised on Vista in November and had a Havana cabin.... The exclusive area was "heaven" and we met more people on this cruise than past cruises because you see the same people daily. It was great to walk the ship...observe and know we had our piece of paradise at the back of the ship!! Enjoy!!

  10. When I cruised with my mom, they asked for her marriage certificate because her name on her birth certificate did not match her license. Just a photocopy was all she needed.

We have cruised 20+ times .....and have always just used a BC & DL. Same with my children when they cruised with us. I don't understand how everyone is so judgemental and want to warn people when all they are asking/confirming required documentation for a closed loop close!! Loosen up people!!

Greysa... My wife has never been questioned eventhough her BC has maiden name on it...Probably because we are cruising together. But I do carry a copy of our Marriage License just in case!!

  11. We've sailed almost every Carnival class and the Vista happens to be our favorite. I guess it just so happens that the changes they made that others dislike works better for the way we cruise. We rarely go to shows, so the liquid lounge issues don't bother us. We also don't do dance clubs, so again, liquid lounge doesn't bother us. We have a younger family, so the addition of the Family Harbor area is a big plus for us. We love movies, so I'll take the Imax over a 80 feet of unused air simply there for aesthetical purposes any day (just our opinion). The increase in dining venues was another big win for us.

I imagine it's all in who you ask and why you cruise. I have no problem with those who love the things I don't or dislike the things I like. Personally, I'm glad Carnival made these changes. It's why we're on one of the first US based Horizon cruises.

Your very similar to us...Thats why we loved the Vista!!! Carnival offers many classes of ships that have certain designs and layouts which should meet everyones needs....Just do research...but no need to bash the Vista.... I can start bashing Conquest class and Spirit class...but choose not to do so because...I have options and will cruise towards those option!!

  12. LIKE!

The bulk of Carnival cruisers are newbies and that's who they go after. The lack of loyalty program benefits and dumbing down the ship is testament to that fact. If they continue this type of design I can’t wait to see their mega ships, it will make the Oasis class look even better.

Lets not start the RCL comparison again...Big enough separate thread already!!

  13. I believe thats a discussion you would have with the camp counselors on registration day. If she is outgoing and mature for her age and has older friends...I would imagine she would want to be with the older group. If she is shy and quiet....she might feel more comfortable with the 12-14. She could start in one group and move to other (once she turns 15)....if she doesn't like the 12-14...But by a couple days into the cruise...groups and little clicks have likely formed....so that might not be the best approach allowing her to blend in.

  14. We’ve been on several Carnival ship classes loved them all. Last year we sailed Victory and Vista and loved them both. It’s true on Vista they did a few things differently but we saw the benefits for most changes. The liquid lounge format allowed the seats to be arranged so that the performers could interact with the audience. The atrium isn’t as tall as the Dream class but this allowed for an IMAX theatre.

If you look for bad you’ll see bad. Also we loved the Havana bar. can’t wait to sail Horizon!

Thanks for triggering my memory from my earlier post...LOL Thats why the Panorama Atrium will be more open ...They are doing away with IMAX Theatre....according to what I read.

  15. I thought the crowd flow on Vista was fine. You had 2 floors ...deck 4 and 5 which went thru the ship. Other than the guys Brewery...I don't think you are going to see much difference other than the Havana area may be more crowded. Added/designated more cabins to this category and about 40 more passengers. I think you will see some changes on the Panorama...next new ship. Especially in the Atrium area (this is what I've read)

  16. wow, never heard of this place, what are it's hours. We generally do not get out of the cabin early enough for the MDR.

This area was dead space until each evening....so I am glad they did something with it. We stayed in Havana cabins so it was very convenient. I'd run over and grab a coffee from Java Blue...if waiting on my wife.... and then we would do Breakfast at Ocean Plaza. Did lunch there several times too. Also Pig and Anchor is just outside...so you can grab some of that grub on Sea days. Really beats the crowds!! Time was usually 8-10am...listed in Funtimes. I believe it opens an hour earlier on port days
