  1. A lot of good information - thanks for everyone’s responses.  This is a booking we made at the end of January so we have not made final payment yet.  It was booked as a non refundable deposit booking.  It was also celebrity’s cruise care insurance.  I’ve got a phone call into our travel agent to ask further questions _ I’m sure she is so busy so maybe she’ll return my call tomorrow.

  2. We have sailed on Reflection twice and both times have booked cabin 7241. It has the largest balcony on the hump and if you book side by side you can open the balcony dividers up and have a really large area for your group. Deck seven right by the elevators is great because that is where you will get on and off the ship when you are in port. Also it is easy to get to the dining room, oceanview cafe, cafe bacio - with the midship location and being on the seventh floor you can either use the elevators or the stairs. You never need to walk down a corridor of rooms and you are right next to the Hideaway,

  3. We also sailed on the 3/8/14 sailing of Reflection. This was our second cruise on Reflection - we originally sailed on a European Sailing in November 2012. We booked the same 1A stateroom - 7241 that has one of the largest balconys on the hump. I would highly recommend this cabin. The ship seemed very well run - the officers were very visible and participated in many activities - the cruise activities staff did a great job providing a wide range of things to do. I agree that the hypnotist/magician shows were great - I didn't like the juggler/beat box guy from Americas Got Talent - but others did. We had the free drink package for all three of us and found that it was such a great convenience and we enjoyed the flexibility it gave us for Cafe Bacio, wine at lunch etc... Shopped in Old San Juan. Megan's Bay in St. Thomas and Bernard's Tours to see the planes at Maho Beach, 90 minutes at Orient Beach and lunch at Sarafinas. (We did get two towel animals - seal and a monkey - I think it just depends on your cabin steward). Another great cruise!

  4. Sailed both Reflection and Oasis. Entertainment on Oasis/Allure is fantastic. A full Broadway play, ice show, water show, Cirque ole, and comedian as well as a traditional musical revue. Reservations are made before boarding. Reflection can not compare. Everyone should sail Oasis/Allure once. The design is unbelievable. Our children and grandchildren loved this ship. The food was just okayon Oasis. There is a solarium for older guests at the front of the ship. It is a long walk from the front to the back. Reflection is a wonderful ship. A more sedate vacation. Celebrity food is far better than Royals.

  5. We took the bus to red stripe beach and I did not see anything outside of the port gates where you could get chicken within walking distance. Most private excursions will take you to a jerk chicken place for lunch - we have done that in the past.

  6. You book a specific excursion time to go but the bus runs every 30 minutes coming back. To be honest - the guys loading the bus at the dock didn't even seem to look at the time on the ticket - just that you had a ticket. Unless the tickets were color coded and that's how they were keeping track of ticket times.

  7. I think there was one more ship in port that day. We took the 9:30 shuttle to the beach. We were near the stack of beach chairs and it was a little after noon that they started to run out of lounge chairs. After people left they quickly took their chairs off the beach and rented them again.

  8. We were at Red Strip Beach in December and here is what I posted on another thread. We were the first bus to arrive at the beach and were able to get a nice shady spot on the beach.

We were at Red Stripe Beach last week and booked thru RCCL. We were pleasantly surprised at how nice the beach was. It's about 5 minutes from the port and is tucked away down a road with private access from the main road. It cost 28 for the excursion and 5 dollars to rent a chair. A bucket of six red stripe beers was $22. The beach also has security so there were no vendors -but the beach had their own person doing massages and hair braiding. It's a small beach that does not have inflatables and other beach entertainment. We had adults and it was a nice few hours at the beach drinking red stripe. Food is also available but we did not buy any.

  9. We sailed on the 2013 Christmas Cruise on Oasis. There were a lot of kids but because the ship is so large and people are spread out everywhere we never felt there were crowds of any sort. We were a group of 14 that included six teenagers and they said that the only large groups of kids were found at night on the sports deck and by the teen lounge and these kids were just talking in groups.

  10. Our group of 8 went with mark morris last week and had a great time with Mark. He met them at the pier and spent the day with them - kayak and lunch. When they got back to the ship they said they had a great day and that it could not have been more perfect. I too had read many great reviews about Mark and that is why we booked with him.

  11. I saw people only drinking beer from a bottle. There may have been mixed and frozen drinks but I don't remember seeing them. I would be concerned about the water and stick with something in a bottle or can. We did have frozen drinks and food at Paradise Beach in Cozomel and everyone felt fine afterwards.

  14. I have sailed most of the S-Class ships. My favorite is the Silhouette. The Captain is the greatest. Poses for photos every day in the Café Baccio. When he makes the daily announcement at noon you stop what you are doing and listen. He is so entertaining. He is at different venues throughout the ship having a great time. My advice: Take advantage of the free beverage package when it is offered. Bottled water, freshly squeezed juice, specialty coffees and alcoholic beverages. I can truly say I am a seasoned Celebrity cruiser.

  15. We did eat all the food from the class.

    Salad

    Potatoes

Pork - was prepped by cruisers and cooked by chef

Pinapple dessert - was suppose to be pinapple on pound cake. They did not have a pound cake and instead it was on a pancake and the pancake mix was premixed before the class started.

Based on what I read on CC I was expecting to prep the food and then eat different food prepared by the chef so that we were not exposed to anything. I wonder why HAL does not have a standard across all ships?
