There are about 8 hotels in Harmon Meadows as well as multiple bus stops. You can leave your car at the hotel. Fare is $4.25/pp each way. Bus 320 - http://www.njtransit.com/pdf/bus/T0320.pdf

The problem from the airport is that you have to take a hotel shuttle to the P4 Airtrain station, the Airtrain to the airport train station, and then pay $13/pp each way to go to NY Penn Station. You can also drive to Secaucus Junction train station and pay to park and pay $4.25 for the train.

Thanks so much!! Any chance you know if any of these hotels are newer or nicer? Time to do some research and pick one!! I appreciate your time, so helpful!!

  2. Driving in from Pittsburgh for an Anthem sailing on September 15th, plan to drive in on the 14th. Thinking of trying to visit Times Square Friday, but would like to stay at a hotel closer to the port and train in to city. We will have our car, but don't want to drive in to city. Plan to drive to port to park Saturday morning. Best options for this idea?

  3. Thank you mokis mommy! The reason I'm thinking if splurging is because this trip will be paid by my inheritance, sadly my mom passed away at the beginning of December, only 67 yrs of age and missed enjoying some of the things she worked so hard for! She had just moved into a new condo, purchased brand new everything ( leather furniture, appliances, renos, etc...) and the tags where still on her furniture when she passed very suddenly and unexpectedly :( so I am using some of my inheritance for a trip with my husband, we've had very bad 2 years and I want to do something to relax and enjoy happiness with my hubby.i guess I can call the price of the splurge just part if the cost of doing my vacation how I'd most enjoy it! As we know too well, you are never guaranteed tomorrow, and sometimes it's ok to splurge and enjoy today if it won't bankrupt me :)

My mom would've enjoyed knowing I shared some quality time with my husband, and this splurge will add the ambience to my vacation I am craving right about now! I think I will upgrade and just go with it, as $1,900 although pricey won't cause undue, long term hardship. Thank you for your reply :)

Interesting enough, I was in your same boat. My mom passed at 65, and we too decided to do a get away and used inheritance and splurged on taking the family on the Disney Dream on the concierge level. I agree with what you said and felt it was worth it for us. It was something she and I had hoped to plan together, and we kept putting it off. Go and enjoy it, and if you are like me you will feel your mom there with you!
