We are scheduled to take a Viking Cruise in June and from reading some of the conversations on these boards I have a question about luggage transfers. If we fly into Heathrow and then onto Budapest, will the airline transfer our luggage or will that be our responsibility?

A couple near by in the MDR got escargot 14 of the 17 nights in the MDR - it was on the menu maybe 3-4 times.
Oh good. Maybe I can get creme brulee most nights. It's my favorite

I never book a room with a connecting door. We have had one in the past and heard the coming and going of our neighbors and I don't want to hear that again. I also make sure to have cabins above us. We have been under the pool eating area because you hear the chairs scrapping all time of the day and night. Even when they are cleaning very early in the morning.

Just check our February sailing on Icon of the Seas and it isn't offered for us and we are both over 65. Doesn't matter to us because we don't drink enough to purchase a package.

Last fall we did 2 cruises-the first on Holland America and the second on Royal. There is definitely a difference in the travelers on these lines. More civilized on Holland America than on Royal but we don't let other people's behavior dictate our enjoyment.

We have gotten to not packing any formal wear and eat in the Lido that evening, but that is our choice. It is fun to see all the gowns and tuxes even though they are not for us.

We bid on Aqua class and our bid was accepted. We loved Aqua so now we are hooked and will have to pay full price for the next one. I hope you get your bid accepted for the cabin you want.

We are American and just went on an Alaskan cruise and fly from Vancouver to Toronto as part of our trip home. Toronto airport was awful!! We spent 2.5 hours trying to get through customs to tell them we had nothing to declare. At one point customs shut the door and didn't allow anyone in for about 15 minutes. Travelers were angry and they missed flights. We had a 6 hour layover so we were ok. After Vancouver being such a nice, clean airport, Toronto was a big disappointment. It was dirty and it didn't seem to matter to anyone that people were missing their flights. I hope I never have to fly through Toronto again.

Interesting that you liked the machines in the Turks. We hated them there and wouldn't use them again. Lost power pretty quickly and wasted time.

We have done Princess, Holland America, The Big Red Boat, Carnival and Royal Caribbean. We just returned from an Alaskan Cruise on Millinium-Aqua class and absolutely love the ship and Aqua class. The ship was beautiful, the food was excellent, the entertainment was very good and the service was outstanding. We have never been on a ship where the captain and hotel director were so visible. We are already looking at booking Southern Caribbean in February 2023 on a Celebrity ship.

CABIN #:9058
DECK #:9
CLASS: Aqua
AREA:
BED NEAR: door
QUIET?:NO
BALCONY VIEW: Limited
BALCONY SIZE: normal
WIND A PROBLEM?: no
SOOT A PROBLEM?: no
PROBLEMS/COMMENTS: Cabin is a nice cabin, great size. Very noisy because there is a storage area right next door that the cabin stewards are in and out of all early morning and off and on during the day. It is also below the loungers in the Solariam so there is some noise from above.

George Inlet Lodge in Ketchikan has an all you can eat dungeness (I enjoyed it tremendously when I ate there years ago). Your cruise ship should have 1 or 2 options. Also, if you are going to Sitka, there is a crab place at the new pier - Halibut Point Crab and Seafood. I plan on a yummy crab dinner there. Be prepared, a crab dinner isn’t cheap no matter where you eat it…Alaska, Texas, Wisconsin or at home
We just did the George's Inlet with the tour first and really enjoyed it. The tour guide carried fish with us on the boat and put it in the water so the bald eagles came close to the boat. We got some wonderful pictures. And even my husband enjoyed the crablegs.

Another thought is to spend a day or two in Vancouver. We just did that after our Alaskan cruise and loved Vancouver. It is a very friendly, clean city with excellent bus/train service for $11 CAD per day. We are so happy we added those 2 days.

If you plan to use the internet at all, you will want to upgrade. We just returned from a Cruise on Millinium and the basic was a waste. It didn't work most of the time. (which wasn't bad, because I totally unplugged from work🙂)

You may have been just a touch early. All the ships i've been on recently they have Afternoon "Tea" at 3:30 or 4:00 - Finger Sandwiches, mini quiche, scones and jams and sweets. We've found it perfect when returning from a late excursion. I think they list it in the paper daily planner but can' find it in the app
Thanks. I'll keep that in mind next time.

I understand your question. We got back from an excursion at 3pm and without doing room service we only found burgers, hot dogs and fries. That was fine with us and it wasn't that long until dinner time hours.

They address both the land and the sea portion. You can do the land test yourself and give them the results. When you arrive at the port to board they will use the test you have brought with you and administer the test and proctor the results.

Yes, I wanted to know for budgeting purpose. I am a planner so I have been looking at the restaurants in the areas we are visiting and planning food too.

Does Millinium offer a land food package for the 3 days pre-cruise time to purchase?

I'd call RCCL again and see if you get the same answer. If yes- I'd get the passport renewed. Just one less thing to be worried about on your way out. LA should be easy- https://travel.state.gov/content/travel/en/passports/get-fast/passport-agencies.html
There is an office in LA. Here in Denver we have one and I got my renewal in 2 days. I went into the office to apply, and to pick it up.Yes it cost extra but it was worth every penny.
I have a co-worker who waited too long to get her's renewed and she was going to France. She went to Atlanta and was able to get it the same day. It took most of the day but she got it and is in France now. Good luck!
