  1. Aft cabin is the best for cruising. You have a longer walk to get places, but the excersize is worth it. We had 3 people (all female) in a JS on the Adventure and there was so much room. Big bathroom, walk in closet. There was plenty of space that we could all dance in the room and on the balcony. We had rain one night and due to the covering our balcony did not get wet. We were on 8th deck. People below us got their stuff wet. We have a Aft JS and Balcony (adjoining rooms) on our upcoming cruise. Can't wait.

  2. I love the Adventure. Big ship, but not too big.

Fun things to do- mini golf, sit at Pub and people watch.

The signs for mens and womens rooms are clearly identifiable.

We always had muster drill on the deck for our area to meet for a real emergency.

Most evenings the pools and hot tubs are empty or nearly so.

I'm sure you will find plenty of fun things to do. We usually leave the ship knowing there were things we wanted to do, but ran out of time.

  3. Maybe a dumb question but I know you can't bring fruit and sand back in the ship (zip lock full of sand was confiscated in Cozomel) but what else are common things that people buy but then find out they can't bring them back on board? I am hoping to buy spice necklaces etc in Grenada but I have been reading there and a few other ports, the vendors will try and sell you souvenir type items, knowing full well that they won't be allowed back on the ship....like the big seashell horns... any experiences from anyone?

I have purchased conche shells from vendors and was allowed to bring them on the Jewel and Adventure. It sounded like the vendors have a process to clean them and then they are allowed.

  4. I leave my wedding ring and anniversary band at home. Hands swell too much to be comfortable, also dont want to wear them in sea water. DH is ok with that. He does not wear one as he works in construction and it is safer not to wear one.

  5. I don't recall ever being told the gratuity is in the fare. From the airport you are quoted a fare based on where you are going. One of the times we were in SJ we were told not to give a higher fare when we were dropped off (if the taxi driver gave us a different price). Not sure if they were having issues at that time. If we receive good service, we always tip.

One cab driver was very outgoing and talked about the sights of SJ on the way to our hotel. That driver got a nice tip.

  6. On vacation I do drink that much. After all it is vacation. I sometimes have a drink or two a few times per week. Vacation I sometimes start in the morning if it's a day at sea.

Nothing wrong with that, you are on vacation. Personally I like the drink package. I have already paid for it ahead of time and dont have sticker shock when it comes to the end of the cruise. Also like to try a new drink and if I dont like it, I dont drink it.

  7. Party of 33 for the Adventure out of San Juan next June. Is sure to be quite crazy as we all haven't seen each other in a while and are coming fro CT, NY, PA, KY, CO, CA, TX, VA, NC, and FL. So of course I have some questions:

Is there somewhere I can find information about what is planned for the ships upcoming dry dock?

if we have a 2o month old in our room, do they have to buy the soda package if we get the drink packages?

any suggestions for traveling with a kid that young?

    is a JS Worth it?

    Thanks!

WOW what a group. Sounds like you will have lots of fun. We had our first aft JS on our last cruise, loved it. Next 2 cruises booked are aft JS. The extra room and large balcony were wonderful.

    Hope you enjoy your cruise.
