I bought the beer mug. When I finished my draft beer I would take the glass back to the room and fill with beer I brought. Once your done, take mug to any bar and get the token (card). I would take the mug filled with my beer to dinner regularly, no one cared. 

I used to feel the same away about the Captain until I sailed on a ship with Captain Tuvo. He outshined the CD by far! CD isn't a big deal to me and I definitely wouldn't base my bookings on that.

Captain Tuvo, currently on Star Princess, was great. I set my alarm to wake up before 1 am to watch the northern lights. Captain Tuvo announced to the ship that the bridge was seeing to the northern lights at 1 am. Spectacular sight to see and so glad my fellow passengers were able to witness it as well. He definitely made the cruise just a bit better. "Buh Bye"

For anyone that was on the Star, are announcements made that you can hear on your balcony when going through glacier bay?

Yes. The rangers were on the PA and would point out any wildlife spotted, glaciers to look for and information on Glacier Bay. You could hear very clearly what the rangers were saying.

Those were the biggest ones played on the MUTS. More played on the stateroom tv.

Puppies in the Piazza were at 5pm in Skagway. Movies shown throughout the cruise include...Coco, Black Panther, Star Wars: The Last Jedi, Paddington 2, Jumanji. Port days were slow on activities. No issues regarding the rudder, what ever the issue was it seemed to be taken care of in Juneau.

Are you looking for daily activities? Movies? Currently Star has a great Captain and a good cruise director. Just got off the Star after a week in Alaska. The Captain made multiple announcements for the various wildlife which were spotted.
