as if i have to defend myself...
recommended to anyone meaning if you get it great, be happy. not saying go out and book it even tho you're not handicapped. jeeze i'm not a cold hearted as whole.
if the pics are causing more hate than help i'll take them down.

They say that they're handicapped accessible, but WTH is a pole doing in the middle of the room?? I can only imagine the poor souls in wheelchairs/walkers trying to maneuver around it.
there was more than enough space w/ the pole.
by the nature of the camera, the room appears smaller. IE it looks like the bed is blocking the balcony door when in fact it's not.
the pole is present as a structural component of the ship and I can not confirm or deny that they exist in every handicapped room, just the one we had ;)

So often I see people asking for pictures of handicapped rooms frusterated by the sheer lack of them that I decited to post mine since I was lucky enough to book a GTY BALCONY and end up in a handicapped one!
Neither my GF nor myself are handicapped so we can't comment on the usefullness of the facilities but I would recommend handicapped rooms to anyone, they're so roomy!
BTW, to get in and out of the balcony with a wheelchair there was a removable metal ramp that could be placed on either side of the base of the sliding glass door. I did not get a picture of it but it was outside on our balcony.

We're on deck 6, in cabin 6435 - and it looks like we're right above the casino... can that be right??? :(
fortuna 6435 is right above the Piano Bar. For late night noise, you should be ok since i do not think the piano bar goes late (late meaning 12, 1 or 2 am)

All of the elevators announce decks in Italian, first, then English... after a week you'll be saying "Ponte due, deck two" like a native ....;) The European atmosphere is infectious!
HA! I was even announcing it when riding the elevators on Victory, 8mo after i went on magica :)

I agree - and I totally loved it!
This is what I try to tell people who complain that it 'wasn't like princess, or carnival or (insert other cruise line here))
(even though Carnival owns princess and costa)

I am looking forward to the toga semi formal night. Do passengers make their toga at home and then wear it on the "Toga Night" instead of wearing a bed sheet??
yes. some people get elaborate

on my formal nights i saw nothing but suits, some tuxes and cocktail dresses.
i would be hard pressed before i'd call costa a 'less formal' line.

Can't say I'm too thrilled about this news.:(
I know it's not cold water lobster. However, I still think of "lobster night" as part of the cruise experience....I also think of amenities in the bathroom as part of my vacation....this will be the first time I have to bring my own soap.
I wonder if Costa is looking to de-categorize itself out of "mainstream" into the "budget" category.
ya 'lobster night' is a nice aspect to cruises. you feel all luxurious because you're eating lobster :). but really do you know the price of king crab? it's expensive. I'd estimate around the same price as Caribbean lobster. Maine lobster however, is much higher.
if costa was 'decategorizing' itself it would be from the direction of their parent company, carnival.
Mafig - magica has liquid soap dispensers in the shower that was great for body wash and shampoo. but thats it. i used it, but again, I'm a guy.

No Lobsters but they gave us Alaskan King Crab legs on one night in the dining room. We asked for more and no problem they brought out 3 more dishes of Crab Legs. Tastes better than Lobster and Im a big lobster eater
I'll agree. While not having warm water caribbean lobster tail is a let down, I do prefer king crab myself.
I guess for real lobster you have to have the cold water Maine type.
Was it king crab or ophelia crab? (snow crab)

by nature, people always feel about double the actual tilted angle you are at.
think of it this way. if the room you are in right now was tilted at a 45 deg angle it would be very very hard for you to stand, anyone who has roofed will understand this espectially on a 12 by 12 pitched roof. to stand upright in your room you would need to put half your weight on one foot on the floor, and half your weight on another foot on the wall. past this point (45 deg) is would be easier to stand on the wall rather than the floor :):):)

In-laws on that ship. Got a message, said there's a fire and they're evacuating the cabins (mustering I guess)
That's all right now.
