  1. Had the voucher in our stateroom but it had no information on it as to location, date or time. Had to go to one of the restaurants to learn about our assignment. That seemed like a bit of a time waster not only for us but also for the host, who had a decent line of passengers asking him the same question. Doesn't matter which restaurant you go to - they will have lists for both restaurants at the host/hostess stand up front.

Fortunately we had a very agreeable assignment. Crown Grill at 7:30, just 15 minutes difference from our late seating preference, and well after the ship pulled out of port so plenty of time to get cleaned up from our day on land. Great evening.

Don't forget to bring your voucher, as they will collect it from you as your form of payment. :)

  2. I also get the message every few times I've visited CC lately but I always bring it up via the direct "boards.cruisecritic.com" link. Since it doesn't happen every time I visit, I agree with the previous poster's theory that it's linked to a specific ad so if you don't randomly get that ad when you visit, then you won't get the message.

Far as I can tell, as long as you don't call the number and/or share your personal info and use task manager to force ending of your browser, your computer should be fine. The whole point of the message is to lock up your browser in this never ending loop of error messages and fake virus warnings to make you panic and call. Once you force your way out of that loop all is fine, given that you don't get the same random ad again.

Have had this same obnoxious warning pop-up (using a PC and Chrome) and agree completely with each of these assessments of what is happening. Nothing to worry about as long as you don't start clicking here, there and everywhere. Closing the browser should fix it, and even just closing that tab in the browser should be good enough.

The webmaster(s) and site admins for CruiseCritic should be EXTREMELY vigilant about these types of ads. It doesn't take much to scare away or drive away visitors, and stuff like this will do it all day long. That's lost click revenue and eyeballs-on-ads revenue.

  3. Thank you - will make this one of our first stops once on board if what Princess has assigned to us is not going to work for us. Arriving on the train as the conclusion of the land portion of our cruisetour. Am assuming that pax who are just cruising will already be in Whittier and onboard by the time the train shows up. Is that correct?

  4. Just did CT on the Legend. Had read all about it here and it lived up to expectations. Two differences from what I read and what we experienced? The "cookbook" was just a laminated sheet of paper with the WCMC recipe, not a cookbook. That was put in a nice folder with our group photo. Chef did sign it. The other difference (well, maybe more of an assumption on my part) was the wine. Only two wines; the white and the red. Both were very forgettable common table wines. They were fine to drink, just not in the same league as the food that had been prepared and served. A proper wine pairing would have been very appropriate, and in my opinion is pretty much required when in a fine dining environment like CT. Hearing the "crack" of the cap seal being broken just doesn't have the same panache as hearing a cork being pulled from a bottle. But cork vs cap is a whole different thread ;). For me, it just didn't fit in at all.

Would we do it again? Without hesitation. It was well worth the price. The table setup with your partner across from you at a wide table really wasn't a problem for us, but DW and I were in the center. Was never a problem to join a conversation, and all at our seating were very pleasant and chatty. I can see the benefit of having a round table, though.
