Nice ship, 2600 passengers. Crossing to Hawaii, normally cool and can be choppy the first few days Weather starts to get warm on the 3rd day. On the return you are a little further south heading to Ensenada. It's a little warmer. The overnight from Ensenada to L.A. can be choppy along the coast. You never know what you will get. You have to enjoy sea days, 9 of them, to best enjoy a cruise to Hawaii. The days at sea are not like days at sea in the Caribbean if that is what you think of as a comparison.
What do you mean they’re not like caribbean sea days? Weather, seas or both? We enjoy sea days in the Caribbean laying on the deck and soaking up the sun.

I’m looking at booking on the Star Princess out of LA February 2020. Wondering if anyone has done this sailing? Thoughts on the ship and specifically the weather. My wife and I have cruised numerous times on Carnival, Holland and MSC. This will be our first Princess cruise. Again i’m Really trying to find information on the weather to and from the islands......we know the weather in Hawaii will be temperate. Thanks all for you help.

Sorry, I mean the elevators (by passing other floors) -- can you get access to those decks without a card/wristband?
The elevator to the 18th and 19th YC decks can only be accessed once you enter the Yacht Club if my memory is serving me right. A means of easily controlling access. There is still elevator access but you have to get off the main elevator, enter the yacht club and then go up again.

Curious to know if they put the Pullman and pull out away during the day.

My family and I are in that stateroom next week. I’m really looking forward to following your voyage. We were in in June as well and decided the YC would be great for our girls.

Anyone know what minimum is on blackjack tables this year? Thx!
It was $10 in June. They did have happy hour on sea days I believe for $5 . I can check next week and let you know.

Both my wife and I have accounts. My email address gave an error saying not found but my wife was able to rest hers. No clue. Maybe I’ll try signing up again tomorrow.

I am in St. Martin next week with my 3 daughters (5,9 and 11) who want to snorkel. We have heard good things about the golden eagle excursions but reading the description it says open bar. I want to make sure that i'm not booking a booze cruise and that this would be appropriate for younger children. Any advice or experience would be great.

i know the ceiling was in the YC, can't remember about the walls.

Did they let you wear shorts in the Yacht Club restaurants?
I think I wore shorts every day except the elegant nights In the YC restaurant. I’ll be back next month and am only planning to bring pants for the elegant nights so we shall see.
-
Now that I think about it I switched from shorts to pants on elegant nights but kept my short sleeve button downs untucked. It’s the Caribbean, now worries man.

We were on Seaside in June and I'd say about 50/50 jackets and not. I personally wore dress pants and a button up shirt. I think the YC was actually less formal than the rest of the ship.
-
does anyone know the minimum age to use the thermal area in Seaside?
-
I was on Seaside in June in YC and going back next month. There were accessible HDMI but i couldn't get the TV to switch inputs....anyone that has a way to do it would be greatly appreciated.

My wife and I got the same panties for both of us on seaside........it was a sight to see
-
Sorry, I can’t comment on that as we were YC

OMG, I sat in Arthur's section too. He is sooooooo much fun. I'm going on MSC Seaside again in October and will see him again. We are friends on FB and he confirmed he will be there.
What dates? I hope he's there for our sailing too!!

Cruising in October on the eastern route in the YC, does anyone have an recommendations for excursions with girls ages 5,9 and 11? I know my girls really want to do a dolphin swim but i can't find one that fits the ages. Any other recommendations would be appreciated.

Sports bar had IPA's in June but ran out. They let me take a few back to my room unopened.

We did B2B in June and just booked for next month with our children. Sad to see that Arthur won't be on board. He was amazing, one of the highlights of our experience.
-
Hey all, heading out on the Seaside B2B next Saturday and am trying to pack....well my wife is trying to pack. We are in a YC Deluxe Suite and she is wondering if anyone has recent experience. Looking to see what is included as far as toiletries are concerned. I'm guessing they have shampoo and shower gel but anything else? Conditioner, lotion etc? Thanks for the help, it will save us a ton of room hopefully.
Hawaii Cruise Weather
in Princess Cruises
Posted
Thank you for your insight. We are looking at this as a way to see Hawaii for our 15 year anniversary since my wife won't fly that far. We are used to Caribbean cruising but are not against something new, just want to get an idea of what to expect. We're from Minnesota so whatever the weather is it will be warmer than home in February.
Like I said, never been on a princess cruise but I've heard good things. I know this is one of the older ships in the fleet but we're looking forward to it.
