As home to nearly 600 banks, using a credit card shouldn't be a problem. You may want to do a couple of things first, however. 1) let your CC company know you will be traveling and let them know where (and the duration). This can help prevent frustrating account locks. 2) check to see if your CC charges foreign currency fees. Some cards do, some don't. AmEx for example has fairly high fees while cap One doesn't have any.

Using Google maps, the distance between them is about 3.1 KM or just under two miles. I guess it depends on how close you want it to be or how far you feel like walking. For the average person you can walk 3 miles an hour so it's about a 40 minute walk.

Thank you very much!
I didn't realize Blue Harbor will offer to pick us up for $15 pp. I do like your suggestions and will look into them further, including hiring a driver. :)

I've searched the forums for an answer and I only seem to find info for Coxen hole so I am hoping someone can help.
My husband and I wish to travel from Mahogany Bay to the Blue Harbor Arboretum and then to West Bay Beach. It is only the two of us.
Does the minibus go by Mahogany Bay? If it does, can someone describe where to catch it from Mahongany Bay?

A group of 10 of us will be visiting Belize via the Carnival Conquest at the end of January and we'd like to visit the ruins at Xunantunich. We will be in port from 8am to 5pm.
We are trying to decide between booking this through the ship or through a private company? Is this tour doable with a private company (websites say this tour last 6 hours to get from port and back again)?
If this is doable with a private company, what ones do you recommend?

I'm wondering the same thing - has anyone been? What did you think of it? Did you get to try any fresh fruit picked fresh off the trees?

If you are staying at any of the hotels near the airport on W State Rd 84 and you like or want to try German food, go to the Old Heidelberg - http://heidelberg84.com/.
Their German food is really good. The place is crazy kitchy but that's what I like about it. Lots of German beer to choose from and on Saturday nights, they usually have live German music (accordion).

When my family cruises, we like to buy rounds for each other, which is what I'm trying to figure out, if on the Cheers program, can my sister and her husband 'buy' a round for myself and my husband? I don't see it as cheating. We buy each other drinks all the time. It doesn't seem like you can do that with the Cheers program.

I've scanned this thread and haven't noticed an answer to my question.
If my sister and her husband buy the Cheers program and offer their cards to myself and my husband (different last name than my sister and her husband) to take to a bar so we can each get a drink, will the bartender or drink waiter have a problem if we sign our own names on the slip?

In Google Chrome, you can add an extension to view the photos posted in this thread - go to 'tools', then 'more tools', then 'extensions', then 'get more extensions', then 'fix photobucket hotlink fix', then click 'add to chrome' and it worked!
I saw this posted in another thread, tried it, and it worked for me.
