If you book the 11 day trip in Hawaii with NCL you will get three nights in Waikiki in a hotel before the cruise. We did this and enjoyed three day tours around Oahu including Pearl Harbour. On the last day we left our luggage in the hotel room. We went to the Koalua Ranch for the day, lunch was provided and then we were dropped off at the ship. Our luggage was in our cabin when we boarded. We thought this was all good value, we had free entrance to the Polynesian Village, Pearl Harbour and to the Ranch. Our travel agent told us we would have to pay the Resort Fee at the Marriott but this was not the case.

Small bottle of white wine in the mini bar cost $12. There were a range of small bottles of spirits on the top shelf of the fridge but we didn't touch them.

We normally wore casual clothes in the dining rooms, dressed up a bit more for the speciality restaurants. I found it freezing in a couple of the speciality restaurants and in the theatres, and I WAS wearing a warm top. My husband didn't feel the cold, though...but then he never does. We turned the air conditioner off in the cabin. It was still quite cold at night in bed, but they do provide light blankets in the cabin. We really enjoyed our cruise even though it was sadly interrupted by Hurricane Lane.

Bring a warm jacket!

Back in Honolulu now. Didn't see the hurricane and had an extra day at sea. Weather was beautiful we were all kept busy and entertained. We missed our helicopter flight on Kawaii and excursions on the Big Island, but after all, this is Hawaii. You take a chance coming here in Huriicane season. Loved the cruise and would do it again.
