  1. Hi New Cruiser51912,

We spent 8 days in Barcelona post cruise and it is an amazing place to visit. We did a bunch of things it all depends on what you like. Send me an email (titicaa8396@yahoo.com) so I can forward you what I used to plan my days.

We did Flamingo show and dinner which was amazing. We were also located at the Gothic Quarter across from the Cathedral of Barcelona, great square with restaurants and people playing music and singing in the alleys.

We have Sprint .we visited Anchorage/ Talketna/Wasilla area the last few years...we were told SPRINT does not have towers on Alaska so you will be roaming. We can talk and text but don't use data unless hooked up to the internet.

  3. Thank you all for your suggestions...I'm taking notes and will look at mirror less cameras and see about using old lenses on a Nikon SLR..I'm afraid I'm a bit "out of you peoples' league " and appreciate you took the time to help. I'll let you know what I decide on..Cruisy Susy

  4. We have gone through several point-and - shoot cameras after I stopped using my Nikon D70 ( too heavy). They have produced poor quality/slightly blurred pictures. I'd like to get a light weight SLR or good point and shoot with good lens distance. Any suggestions? Thanks so much for any information. Cruisy Susy

  5. Hi all....we are thinking of staying an extra night in Moscow and a few extra nights post cruise in St Petersburg. We have talked to Visa people and extending visa is not a problem they said. We'll stay in Gate 1 hotels so no problem there. We are looking at private tours for these days and appreciate any good tours you all took before or after Gate 1. Cruisy Susy

  7. Hi all CCer's! Such a nice positive thread with great suggestions. Steyaww you had some great tips! I like to track on computers/phones which isn't always possible on cruises..so I track the "old fashion" way! I do count points but also keep track of my carbs. Since I am still needing to lose weight and do cruise 3-4 times a year...I have a written plan before I cruise...I use many of the strategies mentioned. I track most days& make rules like only having bread on formal nights.

I think long term for my weight loss and maintenance so my goal is to stay the course and maintain weight or lose a smaller amount on cruises. Walking really helps.

Good luck to all on their weight loss goals! Cruise Susy

And stop by local markets for cooking some night. Too. Thank you all so much for your info! Cruisy Susy

  11. Per Nit Noy Thankyou so much for your information. I don't think my "culture Smart France" book covers French etiquette when it comes to making reservations! Thank you for that insight . I will wait a bit and see if we can make online or may be able to call ahead. Thanks to Seabreezer for your input also...Cruisy Susy

  16. My husband and I toured Cairo (overnight) and Alexander May 4 & 5th with Ramses. We had a great time and unique experience . Our communication with Yousef & Ahmed pre-trip was good and we sent many emails back and forth concerning details. Our guide Kareen was very good and flexible as we changed things during the day. He got us in and out of the Egyptian Museum in Cairo when there were demonstrations that day in museum area.

We spent the night in Cairo, saw Pyramid light show, ordered pizza and ate that at a local coffee house sipping mint tea..and watched the action outside on the street as people began to come out in the cooler temperatures. I couldn't believe I was sitting there, We found the people friendly and polite..what a wonderful experience. Thank you Ramses tours! Cruisy Susy
