First trip

I am looking at the Misty Fjords Excursion out of Ketchikan. It seems the later time slot you book the cheaper it is. Does anyone have an idea why that would be. Thank you in advance.

It is listed on the princess site on the view excursion page for the Hubbard Glacier scenic cruising day. It is offered at the end of the day

did anyone do the white pass scenic railway excursion? It looks amazing but one of the tour books says only if there is clear skies. What were your exoeriences?In Ketchikan same question about a plane ride over Misty Fjords
