Just to be clear, I don't think luggage would be unsafe, I think luggage could get loaded on to the wrong ship.  Consumer Rescue just had a case about luggage cruising on its own because it had been loaded on the wrong ship.

Our goal was to arrive to the port around 10 AM when the ship is there. We would give the luggage to a porter and check in. Then instead of walking onto the ship, we would go and do some site seeing. Sorry, I don't follow why this would risk the luggage being loaded on the wrong ship.

  2. Thanks all for the info. We would only drop our bags off with a porter so I'm not worried the luggage would be less safe. Good suggestions to not try to board at the last minute. We would be sure to be back to the ship before sail time.

I asked via NCL Chat on their website what is the earliest time a passenger can drop off their luggage but they said since the cruise isn't until September, they really can't say. Seemed kind of an odd answer since they have ships leaving from Oslo.

I'll check the NCL and Oslo Forums to see if anyone knows.

  3. Is Mahogany Bay only for cruise passengers on ships that dock at their pier? We are on Royal Caribbean Enchantment of the Seas and will dock at the Roatan Pier in Coxen Hole. Can we still visit Mahogany Bay beach?

  4. Read above. Someome posted about 155.

Its a hit or miss. They would not put rooms in that area if everyone had a bad experience. If you are that worried about some noise early in the morning then try to move.

The post for room 155 was on a different ship. As someone else commented, one room might be under a refrigerator or closet so you won't hear any noise. Since I saw someone had th exact room on Fantasy we are booked for, was interested in what their experience was before we pay extra to upgrade.

  5. carnival fantasy empress deck e153. After booking i noticed it is under the galley.

does anyone believe this to be a problem with noise level? should i change rooms but the ship is pretty sold for 04/18/12.

Hi! We are booked in room E153 on Carnival Fantasy in January. Was wondering how the room noise was from the galley?
