I know this as been asked and answered on numerous threads , but i do not think specifically to the ship i am due to sail on ..... i am not sure if that actually would make a difference .

I am due to sail on the Marella discovery next Saturday and although we are AI i am still unsure whether i need to upgrade to a drinks package , Myself and hubby are not great drinkers but we do like our odd glass of wine and soft drink plus lots of tea ...

I will be glad when this cruise , our first is over then i will know the answers to some off my concerns.... if you know what i mean.

This is our first cruise and we sail in two weeks and although i am excited i am also anxious about the finer details .

Where do we if at all, get luggage labels from and what is the protocol at Newcastle port . Will we need to drop our case off before parking .... we are booked into the port car park.

Does anyone know what the entertainment is on this ship .

I have looked but it appears i get generic answers from Thomson site.

simple questions but would like some idea of what to expect so my holiday can commence in good spirits ;p hubby says not to fret mmmmm :eek:

and finally i have manged to locate a few people who are also on this ship

but not many ....... The marella discovery sailing from Newcastle on 7th July

for the Fire and Ice cruise .... other ships have Roll calls ect

Many thanks for lots of useful and valuable information, I am now a little wiser as to what i am allowed to take,

Great idea for a carry on or back pack for valuables and meds etc, We are off to Iceland in July aboard the Marella discovery , first cruise so i want to get it right and it is a mind field has it will be a mixture of all types of weather i'm sure .

We are booked into the Port car park . Does anyone know if this is within walking distance of the check in terminal and advice on what time we should aim to arrive.

Great site to ask questions even if they appear a little on the common sense side , but as a newbie it is a little scary too ..... but exciting ....;)

This may sound like a silly question ..... but here goes .

i am going on my first cruise in three weeks and i was wondering if anyone can tell me if there is a weight limit for my cases , we go from Newcastle port .

And do you advice to take a backpack for a few items for once on board in case the luggage is delayed arriving to our cabin..... oh so much to think about
