  1. Hello All, We hope that everyone is enjoying the new Edge. We have been looking for pic's of a high floor, corner aft sky suite. We are cruising on Nov 2019 in such a suite. I did book it thinking that we would have a nice big porthole type window on side wall and wrap around balcony. We have since found out that the Edge has neither. But we were still excited since we would be able to face the ocean from our bed and have the opportunity to spend a lot of time lounging, eating, relaxing on the huge balcony. It would appear from the few messages above that our bed will not face the ocean, there will be minimal furniture on the balcony in which to relax and/or take a meal. We are optimistic that we still made the right choice, but are concerned that Celebrity representatives are not great at factual communication, and that there may be other "untrue" assurances made by Celebrity representatives when booking and shelling out a fair amount of $$$$ for this opportunity. We are in our late 40's, early 50's, so don't mind the walk and/or stairs to get to the Retreat. But when we do "retreat" to our aft corner Sky Suite, we were hoping to have a awesome layout that allowed us to have a great time there enjoying some meals, laying out in case the Retreat area is too busy. Here's hoping that is possible by next November! Any aft corner sky suite pic's would be appreciated! Thanks!

  2. VT,

Yes indeedy! My friend who is a frequent traveler suggested the ABC southern cruise as one of the best for the Caribbean. It sounds like you are seconding the motion! We have only done the Reflection western Caribbean cruise before. This trip is the dangling shinny thing that we have placed at the end of our heavy work season that we focus on and gets us through the 80 hour work weeks with something to look forward to! Perhaps you will make it on this one and I can personally thank you for all the great work you put into the pics and info. If not, I will look for your December 11268 sky suite photos and dream about our cruise! Take a lot of them please!!!

  3. Yes, preferably a aft sky suite. we are in 11269 next year and we have been checking the pic's for possible S1 aft sky suite pics. We were made aware that the Edge aft sky suites don't have the wrap around balcony and the big side porthole window that Reflection has, only after we already booked it, but cautiously optimistic that the suite itself it will blow us away in other extras that will easily compensate. The amenities are awesome too!!

  4. Thanks vtcruising! great pic! I will be on deck 11 the following year and the pic let me see where.

I think the suite life will wow you and you will have one of the largest balconies on the ship (only the Edge Villas, Penthouse and Iconic suites are bigger), with room for loungers and a party, if you like :D.

We like sunshine (being from Vermont) and I think we will have more sunshine back there, with 180 degree views. It doesn't appear that the balconies wrap around on this class of ship. Here is a picture during the float out. That is me waving from my balcony on Jan 20.

I do hope that we will be able to look down into Eden during the "sinful" nights. ;)

  5. Welcome to Cruise Critic! Here is a thread about the Sky Suites which will help you, I think.

It doesn't appear that those portholes in the corner aft suites will be on the Edge (looking at the renditions of the suites and the actual pictures of the exterior part of the ship). We enjoyed them as well, but we are looking forward to many other features of those suites (will be in one on Dec 1 and look forward the 163 sq ft balcony and beautiful aft view) and maybe there will be other surprise advantages.

I would suggest that you look through that thread and if you have other questions, be sure to ask. There are lots of people willing to help you. :D

Thanks vtcruising. Guess its too late to move and I wouldn't know where to move anyway. I guess we will see how we like this S1portside aft sky suite and hope that it still wows us. Did I hear correctly that balcony also doesn't wrap around like on other celebrity ships?

  6. First time using Cruise critic. I am trying to ask question but not sure where or how so I will try here first. We are booked on the new Celebrity Edge for November 2019 and booked a port corner aft sky suite S1. We did that because on other celebrity ships, such as reflections, there was a nice sized side porthole window looking out to port. this was in addition to the wrapping veranda. Every rendition pic of the Edge that I have found is contradictory, some showing no large side porthole on the corner aft sky suites, others show it. This is one of the main reasons we chose this suite, and Celebrity's rep's have not been able to tell which it is. I would love to know asap in time to change rooms if necessary. Any help from the Cruise critic "in the know" crowd would be most helpful.
