  1. Hi - Mark & Nancy from The Woodlands TX - we will be on the Sept. 10 Bermuda cruise. We'll be going in on Sept. 7 to do a little sightseeing.

We did the Iceland cruise July 17-24, and spent an extra 5 days up front seeing the sights in Iceland.  We had a great time, no positive cases.

Looking forward to another Viking Ocean cruise (even though we will only be in two ports!). This will be out 11th Viking cruise (5 River, 5 Ocean previously).

    Cheers!

  2. Can someone take pictures of the wine list?  They usually have one red and one white wine for the included wines with lunch and dinner, but we get the drink package and always pick other wines from the list.  Just want to have a chance to peruse them before the July 17 cruise.

Also, has anyone noticed if the drink menu at the bar is the same as always with regard to variety of drinks and price?

    Thanks,

    Mark

I don't think @Viking.com will get it where it needs to get.

If it doesn't, try this:  TellUs@vikingcruises.com

Peregrina651 - Thank you so much - you are correct (I edited my previous entry so as to not confuse anyone - so much for trying to help!!).  This also explains why Viking did not reply to my last email (sent to the incorrect address)!!

Yes, I want to email them and ask if they think this might be added later so they know some people are interested in it. I can't find the "tellus" address that everyone speaks of.

  5. We were fortunate to get all our excursions booked as we wanted (paid multiple times also as others have noted).  My sister was locked out, but called and the Viking rep got all hers booked as well.  A huge mess, but the Viking reps are trying really hard!

Best of luck to all who are trying to book excursions still!

  6. Has anyone on any of the earlier Iceland cruises (we are on the July 17 cruise) used E-check for payment of their Optional Excursions (saving the 3.3% like we have done for the cruise fare)?

I think someone mentioned this earlier (though perhaps they had not actually done it), and my sister called today and the Viking rep said they could not take E-check for excursions.

Just wondering since we hope to book optional excursions tomorrow!!

We did the Lysoen Island and Fantoft Stave Church tour today. Yes. You do go into the church, which is very small, but interesting. The trip to Lysoen Island was as well, but if you don’t know who Ule Bull is you should find out more about him. The trip takes you by boat to the island to visit his house, which you also go inside of. The tour was 4 1/2 hours.

Thanks so much for letting us know. We are looking forward to going in the church...

  8. We will be on the Viking Star "Into the Midnight Sun" embarking in Bergen on June 30.

We are scheduled for the "Lysoen Island & Fantoft Stave Church" optional excursion July 1 from Bergen. Can anyone tell me if we will actually go IN the Fantoft Stave Church? The write-up says "… at the 12th-century Fantoft Stave Church, moved to its picturesque site in 1883 to preserve it for the nation, you can admire its traditional timber construction and elaborate carved decorations. It was all painstakingly rebuilt after a severe fire in 1992."

Another excursion from the Viking Star, "Fantoft Stave Church & Grieg's House & Recital" says "You will join your local guide on a drive through suburban Bergen to Fana, where the Fantoft Stave Church stands tall, proud and elegant. Built entirely of wood in 1150 in the tradition of Norwegian stave churches, it was moved to its present site in 1883 to save it from demolition and preserve it as part of the nation’s heritage. After a destructive 1992 fire, artisans extensively and faithfully restored it to its former beauty. Inside, you can admire the traditional timber construction and elaborately carved decoration."

Seems like both excursions would go INSIDE the church, but the one we are on doesn't specifically say that. I've checked, and the Fantoft Stave Church is open on that day.

Does anyone know, or has someone on the June12-26 cruise been on this excursion? I appreciate any help!

    Have a great cruise!!

    Thanks,

    Mark

  9. We are scheduled for the "Lysoen Island & Fantoft Stave Church" optional excursion on July 1, 2018, from Bergen, while in port on the Viking Star ("Into the Midnight Sun" cruise). Can anyone tell me if we will actually go IN the Fantoft Stave Church? The write-up says "

Back on the mainland, stop at a stunning overlook peering down on the Lyse Abbey. And at the 12th-century Fantoft Stave Church, moved to its picturesque site in 1883 to preserve it for the nation, you can admire its traditional timber construction and elaborate carved decorations. It was all painstakingly rebuilt after a severe fire in 1992."

    I appreciate any help!

    Thanks,
