What did you use to hang the shoe organizer? I have one that I bring as well, but I usually have it attached with zip ties to a clothes hanger and use a wall hook.  I'd rather be able to hang it like this instead.

I used magnetic hooks I got from Amazon. They initially didn't fit the opens to the organizer. However the hooks needed to be screwed into the magnetic base. Did it that and worked like a charm.

  2. We also spent a lot of time waiting in lines. If you wanted a reasonably good seat without having paid for the key, we had to get to everything 30 mins before doors opened. That's with having made reservations before hand. Then when they did open people cut the line!

The crowds were much worse when they had make up shows due to them being cancelled the previous night.

They did a poor job of announcing show cancellations. One night we let our MDR staff know we had reservations for a show. They did a great job of expediting our food. Went to the show only to find out it was cancelled. The worst part is workers were standing in front of the venue and people were lining up for the show. They did not even inform the line the show had been cancelled.

  3. Having recently cruised on this ship I agree the food wasn't that great, especially the desserts. Which is disheartening as I have a sweet tooth.

Made reservations for the solarium bistro for dinner. Arrived for the first 5:30 seating. The food looked pretty but was way overcooked and lacked flavor.

Wonderland was ok. The presentation was great but again the food was just okay. Also there was no mad hatter the night we ate.

150 Central Park was average. My wife liked the truffle butter bread. My braised pork was very rich. I think the fried cheesecake missed the mark.

We tried the WJ for lunch once. Had a hamburger and was sick the rest of the day. Not sure if it was from the burger or people not following proper hygiene practices.

There MDR was the best food we had on the ship. The dinner rolls were soft. Food was hot but bland. I loved the baked Alaska. The service was good even though they forgot my drink even though we ordered two and wasn't asked if we wanted coffee 2 out of 4 times we had dinner there.

We enjoyed the ship but it did feel crowded, especially on the elevators. Do we really need to remind folks to let people off before you get on? Don't know how many times I had yup yell I wanted to get off and nobody moved.

  4. Booked a deluxe with voom on black Friday for $59/day for my Symphony cruise. Debating if I should cancel and rebook for a deluxe without voom and add a key pass. It will be about $100 more, but I was planning on getting voom and with the key pass would also get priority seating at the shows.

it may be the only product there that uses a fresh egg, but it still tastes like it was made by Goodyear.  I will admit that in the many years since I've eaten at a McDonalds, they may have improved, but I'm not willing to take a chance on it.

Correct, it is a real egg but it is still gross. Without egg is the only way to go.

  6. Hello All,

Looking for some advise. Would rather not have to rent a room for an extra day and would like to catch a flight the same day we come back. Not familiar with the process as this will be my first cruise. Would I be safe to book at 3:30PM flight out of Miami international for the same day we return to the port of Miami? Should I purchase the "Key" program to secure a deboarding time slot?

    Thanks for the time.

  7. Last time I was on a cruise ship there were more than two crew members onboard. Maybe the ships you sail on are different.

Do all of you really think it would require one person per monitor? Please tell me you don't think that. Walk into any office building with security and you will see one guard watching a dozen monitors.

I know it is not a 1:1 ratio. I was simply responding to the post that stated their kids slept in the cabin next to them and they couldn't watch their kids 24/7 and how this statement correlates to other posters expecting a ships cameras to be monitored 24/7.

If it is widely accept that nobody can watch their offspring 24/7, why is it assumed and expected for security (Ship/Office/Casino) to monitor over 1000 video feeds 24/7?

  8. I didn't see many details in the article and some of this may have been in the original report/story.

You might want to back off the "where were the parents" escape door for RCI. On our first cruise our two kids were in a room next to ours...one was in college, the other in junior high (about the age of the victim here). We saw them go into there room every night. As far as we knew, they were safely in their room. Nothing stopped them (other than the way we raised them) from opening the door and wandering the ship AFTER we "tucked them in". You cannot watch your child every second of every day....and anyone who says otherwise is, in my opinion, either a fool or childless.

It is not unreasonable to assume that security is monitoring the cameras 24-7. Do you really think if someone was attempting to get into the jewelry store on the ship at 2:00 am security wouldn't be there in a flash? Of if someone was beating the hell out of a crew member right after they closed the bar? You can also, in my opinion, can the concern that requiring monitoring of cameras will reduce security because cameras will be removed. If they aren't being monitored they are not providing security...just possibly gathering evidence, and even that is not a given.

This legal action should be allowed to continue. The judge was correct in making this ruling.

Parents cannot watch their own kids 24/7, yet a cruise line is expected to monitor over 1000 camera feeds and some 5000 passengers 24/7?

  9. I like to be able to check my home security and turn the lights off and on at random times so the house does not appear empty. I also preorder lots of items. If they happen to ship while I am out I can schedule a hold or reroute the package accordingly.

  10. Assuming you can get into your account, the settings portion has your birth day.

I am able to get into my account and my birthday info has been updated there. However it still list both our ages as 54 in the cruise planner when I try to buy a package/excursion. I have not called RCI yet to verify my info.
