  1. Thank you for all your replies. I have no problem calling them up to ask questions. This whole thing started because the person I booked with I guess left me with the wrong impression. She told me to call her directly with any questions or to email her. She acted like as if she was now assigned to me so I thought I was getting an attention to detail that I've not even had before through a TA. She even told me she'd call me when my room number got assigned and my new dining time approved!!!

As for the price drop, I have to say I was surprised that they wouldn't change it to the new price without rebooking. Not worth the $100 since I already know my room and am happy with it...

  2. We are booked on a cruise on the anthem in August of this year. This is the first time we have booked directly with Royal. I sent an email to our cruise consultant last week and she never answered. Upon calling the inbound call centre, I was just told that since they are getting so many inbound calls for reservations, they have pulled their consultants away from answering emails and fulfilling requests to help with call volume?!?! I am so mad!!!

I thought by booking direct I would get better customer service!!! I feel completely deceived....

What was the point of booking direct??? Is there any advantage? And to follow this up, is there a point of now switching the reservation to a TA? Would we get the TA credit if we do so?

Nevermind that there was a price drop on our cruise and the only way to get the lower price (according to rccl) is to cancel and rebook. And since we've booked a guarantee (and already have the room number), we don't want to take the chance for the $100 we'd save.

    Frustrated....

  3. Forgot to mention a few things I noticed.

Without paying for the internet you have no charge access to:

    Google.com

    News.google.com

    All apple iOS push notifications

I can't figure out the google rationale. The push notifications I think are required to allow their app to work.

So any notifications you setup still come in for free. Ie. Facebook etc.

If you plan well I suspect you could stay in touch pretty well for free, albeit only receiving info.

  4. Just back from breakaway.

I was pleasantly surprised at the new internet packages.

    A few things to note:

Based on the login page the current pricing is a promo. Regular price appears to be double. So not sure how long will last. 300mb package should be more than sufficient for most for checking/sending some emails and basic web surfing.

While docked in bermuda speeds were amazing and comparable to what I'm used to. Out at sea it was slow and often couldn't even login.

Overall, Kudos to NCL for replacing by the minute with by the MB

  5. Thank you so much to everyone! I am going ahead and booking it!!! I am still not sure if my friend is coming, so if she does I'll do the forward or aft penthouse suite. I know one person said they were in an aft, I was wondering if anyone else has. Is it a big deal to be so far away from the haven? It will still come down to cost when we actually book the reservation. I do love how the aft balcony is so huge, and there is a second bathroom, but I am wondering if that is a big deal when you have access to the Haven pool area.

I was wondering the same about aft distance to haven. We are booked on the breakaway. Aft Penthouse.

Is being so far an issue?

  6. We are booked in a haven suite on the breakaway in July 2014. We booked a while ago and have a combined OBC of over $1500 (combined from NCL and TA). NCL is currently running a promo "pick your room...get your perk". Will they apply this without losing my OBC?
  7. It seems that something like this was offered only on the Pearl and the Jewel around September 2012.

It was $79 per person and included a choice 5 or 6 specialty restaurants each night.

Also it looks like you could have gone to multiple restaurants in the same night.
