I found the following Cruise Critic article updated February 2019:
https://www.cruisecritic.com/articles.cfm?ID=132
Tour operators in port are usually independent of the cruise line. For a half-day shore excursion, give the guide $2, or $4 to $5 for a full-day excursion -- consider giving a bit more if there was especially personalized service. And don't forget the driver -- give drivers $1 for half-day excursions, $2 for full-day ones.

We are scheduled for a two week Caribbean cruise on Star Legend in a few weeks. As we have not cruised for several years, I am not sure about rules/guidelines for tipping on shore excursions. Is it simply cost based, e.g. x % of excursion cost, or does it depend on the type of excursion (active, cultural, other) or the number of tour guides/hosts. I assume/hope cash in USD is acceptable. All help appreciated.

Just call and ask to rebook. You will lose any special items you received with your initial booking, but the rebooking fee of $50 is almost always reimbursed as a shipboard credit. At least that has worked for me.

The ports of embarkation and disembarkation should be listed on you detailed itinerary confirmation.

We are on Star Legend in a few days. I heard about the port change some time ago and noted that it took a bit of time for the information in the My Windstar website to catch up. However, it now includes the St. Thomas stop. Interestingly, unlike others, I did not receive an email alerting me to the change.
