  1. Snorkel equipment' date=' bikes, floats, and rafts are plentiful and can be rented on the island at the same cost as advance reservations, but you can't get the combination package on Castaway Cay. You don't say how old the grand is--parasailing has age requirements. That and the stingrays will usually need to be reserved in advance.

Remember that high winds or rough seas can cancel excursions. As to how much you can do....it depends on what you want. You can easily do one morning and one afternoon "big thing," but that doesn't leave much time to hang out on the beach. Some people snorkel for 30 minutes, some for hours. If you plan a morning and afternoon activity, I'd save the rental for an "on island" decision.[/quote']

Thanks for the info. Our granddaughter is a month short of 14. The person I spoke with at Disney said she was OK for this activity. It makes this grandma a bit nervous but she says its something she's always wanted to do -- and if you can't trust Disney to take care of your kids, who can you trust:o

  2. Taking our granddaughter on Disney Bahamas Cruise. Questions about renting equipment for our day on Castaway Cay. Can you rent snorkel gear, floats, etc. when you're on island or do you have to sign up for this ahead. We're planning on a parasailing adventure for the grand, perhaps stingrays for us all. Don't know how much we can fit into one day.. any advice is welcome. Thanks.:D

  3. Has anyone done the Military Tattoo Excursion during British Isles Cruise. Our cruise begins 8/17 in Southampton. This excursion is quite expensive so we're looking for opinions on whether it's worth it. Are there other resources to get tickets and to get us there from ship? Your advice is valued.:o

We did the Military Tattoo last summer... took the ship's excursion so as not to worry about getting back too late and because we just didn't want to deal with buying our own tix, securing other transportation etc. . It was expensive and worth every penny! The seats Princess put us in were excellent; the Tattoo itself was stunning! It was definitely one of the highlights of this cruise. Highly, highly recommended.

  4. We are booked on 8/17 British Isles cruise and looking at excursions. Ship's excursions seem expensive and we're not sure we want to be on big non-airconditioned buses. Any suggestions for local guides, tour companies in various ports. There are three couples traveling together and so we would be splitting costs three ways (unless fees are pp of course.)

    Thanks for any suggestions.

  5. Hoping to take our family on a cruise summer of 2016. There are three families; my husband and I (2 adults); daughter #1 (2 adults; kids 11 & 13); daughter #2 (3 adults, kids 17 and 14) Caribbean probably best destination; tho Alaska might also work) ANY ADVICE is appreciated -- cruise line, how to book suites, who has best deals. Thanks.
