No we don't do it for this purpose. We put the kids in their own cabin so we all have more space. My kids are now 8 & 16. We've been doing this for several years though. Minors are allowed to board with their parents. 🙂

I think the part I'm confused on is having them show in the system as being in their own room.  I was informed that minors couldn't be registered in a room without parents.  Is that wrong?  sorry for all the questions

What I would do is put all of the kids in 1 cabin, and the adults in another cabin. Then get FTTF for the adults. The kids will be able to board with the adults in this scenario. If the adults are split up, then you would need FTTF for both cabins for you to all board together. We do this with our suites. Our kids are in their own cabin and my wife and I are in the suite. The kids are able to board with us even without FTTF. If we don't have a suite and just have a balcony cabin, then we just get FTTF for us and the kids still board with us even when they don't have FTTF.

So you have the kids in their own cabin for this purpose?  Does it matter how old they are?  I am in a similar boat (no pun intended) and was wondering if I can put one of the kids in the other room and try to do this.  Do they give you a hard time at all when the kids cabin doesn't have FTTF?

  3. FTTF is not available right now for my cruise (I know I need to just keep checking)...but my question is, when it becomes available is it the very first item on the Excursions page?  Or is there another place to watch?

  4. With FTTF, you can head straight to your room to drop off the any carry-on stuff you have as your room is ready when you board (instead of waiting till 130-2pm). At that point, free to explore the ship! I know some take advantage of the priority line at guest serves to line up excursions and things like that...Also, your bags should arrive sooner, so can unpack before muster drill.

For me, it'll be about dropping off my carry-on stuff, going for lunch at BlueIguana, and then getting a cocktail and exploring my home for the next week!

Thank you! This is only our 2nd cruise so we are still learning. But I was lucky enough to get the FTTF and a Villa in HMC. Starting to get excited!

  5. I did a search and see a lot about the cabanas/villas but couldn't find an answer so here goes:

We reserved a cabana on HMC for our cruise, but now I have some questions.

Do people try to use a cabana they didn't pay for? If we want to go explore the island, what keeps people from squatting in ours?

Are they really worth it? I am trying to calm myself after shelling out a rather large chunk of money. Also, some reviews make it sound like there are private bathrooms and some sound the opposite...I'm confused.

Any help from those that have rented them would be very appreciated.

  6. The gift cards are very much worth the 10% you save. We used a few on our most recent cruise (Dream in June). Combined with our OBC from our TA and the fact that we pre-purchased all our shore excursions and drink packages, it was the first time ever we've walked off the boat owing $0. In fact, I used the casino cash-out "trick" late on the last night and pocketed $200.

Ok, new to the boards so need a bit of translating...OBC- On Board Credit? TA=?

I have sailed a few times but still learning board lingo.

    TIA
