Hello,
My husband and I are going on our first cruise next month. Just curious how strict the cruise departure times are. For example, if a cruise ship is scheduled to leave the port at 5PM, do we just need to get to the port by say 4:45PM or do we need to get there earlier? I don't mean for check-in; this is just for when to return after spending a day exploring the port of call.
I have tea reservation at the Fairmont in Quebec at 2:30PM and the ship is scheduled to leave at 5PM. I figure maybe 90 minutes to enjoy the tea, so we would be done by 4PM. It looks like the Fairmont Hotel is only 0.7 mile (1.1 km) from the port and should only take 20 minutes of walking. Does this schedule seem okay, that we would get to the port by 4:20PM for a 5PM departure? The ship is supposed to leave from Le Terminal Port of Québec, 84 Rue Dalhousie, Quebe QC Canada. Is this port pretty easy to get to from the Fairmont?
Thank you in advance!

yes, you can enter/exitt the ship as many times as you want. To leave the ship, make sure security scans your ship card/key card. To enter the ship, you have to pass through a metal detector and then security scans your ship card/lkey card again. make sure you onboard by the all on board time. usually a half hour to one hour before sail away time
mostly everything is open with limited hours. like they will only be one dinning room open for breakfast/lunch. check the ship daily newsletter for the hours
Thank you for the information!

Once the ship is cleared by the authorities you can get off & on as you wish ..just be sure to be onboard 30 mins prior to the sailaway time
If you stay on the ship in port the casinos & shops will be shut but bars & restaurants will be open as stated check the daily newsletter for times
Thank you for the information!

Hello,
My husband and I will be going on our first cruise this October and we are very excited for this new experience! I do have some logistical questions that I'm hoping some people with cruise experience can help answer:
1) Our cruise is set to board in Quebec City on Friday and then stay in Quebec on Saturday and depart Saturday night. Once we check in and board the ship and drop off our luggage on Friday, can we get off the ship to explore the city as we please or are we supposed to stay on the ship for the rest of Friday?
2) When the ship docks at various ports, can we get on and off the ship as we please or you aren't supposed to get back on until a certain time once you get off? Is it easy to get on and off the ship? We don't have mobility issues.
3) If we stay on the ship instead of getting off at the port of call, do all the amenities on the ship remain open during the day, like restaurants and such?
Thank you!

How much should a trip this distance cost in a taxi?
