  1. Do cruise ships generally return to port on the final day in the morning? I can't see when our August 2019 cruise gets back into Southampton and was wanting to work out whether a train or car would be best for us to get to/from Southampton from Wakefield. There is one direct train per day back from Southampton which is just before 2pm.

  2. Thanks for the very comprehensive and helpful response. I am in the UK. it was this comment I just need to understand more:

"If you go with the flow it's a good cruise line, if you go expecting a Brit or American experience & you'll be disappointed."

As I am new to cruising I don't really know what is meant by a British or American experience...could you let me know what the different experiences are.

Our plan would be to do Disney and then go on the cruise whilst we are already in the US (therefore the flights are already paid).

  3. Thanks, we'll leave the cabin booking as is I think. We've got B128 booked and we saw a review of one almost identical on Youtube which should be fine for us.

Mods - Apologies I did post the name of the TA I used, please remove as necessary.

  4. We completely new to cruising and have booked our first cruise for August 2019 (4 Days from Southampton to Bruges with P&O). The following year we are looking to do a cruise in the Caribbean as part of our family holiday to Disney World. I've looked at various cruise lines - Disney, Carnival, Royal Caribbean and MSC.

I've seen that MSC has got a bit of criticism from US cruise reviewers saying that their cruises are geared for European cruisers rather than North Americans. Can someone tell me what this actually means i.e. how do American Cruise passengers differ in how they cruise to Europeans? I want to make the best choice in regards to our 2020 cruise as possible so just trying to understand what it is about MSC puts North Americans off.

  5. Just wanted to say hi. I've just booked a cruise for my wife and I next August, and it will be the first cruise we'e ever done. We're sailing on the Aurora from Southampton on their 4-night Bruges trip. So looking forward to it. Also slightly nervous as we don't know what to expect, and the fact we're leaving our children with their grandparents and this will be the first break we've really had without them.

We're hoping to go to Florida in 2020 and doing a cruise from their as part of our holiday to Orlando, so next year's trip seemed like an ideal starter to see what we think of cruising.

Any advice or tips is very gratefully received.

    Thanks

    Tom.
