My wife and I will also be on the Opal on the 5th. It is looking much better than a week ago. It appears the she is docked in Bingen right now after sailing through the rhine gorge today.

We are sailing on the Opal out of Basel to Amsterdam on Sep 5th. Leaving Toronto on Aug 28 and doing a bunch of scenic train trips in Switzerland. I have been watching the Opal. It just got back to Amsterdam after an aborted trip to Budapest - in didn’t even get to Nuremberg. It is now scheduled to leave Amsterdam for Basel on the 29th. It will be interesting to see what its plans are for the next week.

This will be our second Scenic trip. We did Budapest to Nuremberg in June 2016. High rivers just impacted the last day. No real problem.

I'm a little worried - we are sailing from Basel to Amsterdam on Sept 5 on the Scenic Opal. If the position on Cruisemapper is correct the Opal is not even to Weisbaden yet on its trip to Budapest where it should be on August 16. It then has to return to Amsterdam and then sail to Basel by Sept 5th.

Does anyone know if Cruisemapper is accurate?

Have any Scenic trips been cancelled?

Hi Candf - we are travelling on the Scenic Opal from Basel on September 5. Hoping the river rises a bit. It looks like the Jewel is stalled near Baden Baden right now. I will be monitoring your comments once you begin.
