i just got off anthem this past weekend. i saw all sorts of dress codes in all the restaurants. one lady looked like she came from the gym and went into grande (it was around 9ish)complete with baseball hat and all !
my DH and DS did not have suit jackets and they gave them one to hang on the back of the chair. they did not have to put it on.
our last nite in chops, there was a guy in jean shorts and tshirt and one guy was in a track suit. i have never seen them turn away anyone because of dress codes.

I have to admit I was a little concerned after we booked, the storm story etc. but IT WAS AMAZING !!!! :D The anthem is a beautiful ship !!
The pros:
Super easy check in. Much different from when we last sailed from Bayonne. It was a breeze ! We had 2 rooms so we took 3 bottles of wine and a bottle of champagne thru security no problem at all.
We thought the food was awesome. One dish in American Icon was chicken kiev that I did not like at all and they brought me lamb chops which were awesome. They were also bring complimentary champagne to all the tables.
We did CHOPS on the last nite and it could not have been a better way to end the cruise. 4 of us all had filet mignon and it was perfect. The service, thanks to our waiter SINGH from India was AMAZING !! I cannot say enough about this man. Loved it !! Thanks Singh (from the kevins and miss jo and miss jill) lol !!
The solarium is great but it does get warm. Look to sit near a window so you can open it. One time I asked the attendant to open a window (we were across from it) and she said to me "can you ask the people if its ok, cause I always get yelled at".... :(
We will rock you was great !! a little slow in the beginning but gets much better !! we didnt go to the other shows though.
Two70 cafe is awesome and the bar area is a must see !
THE CONS:
We took my sons girlfriend on the cruise and her mom ordered us strawberries and champagne with 4 glasses to be in the room. A little disappointing cause only the champagne was there with 2 glasses when we got to the room. BUT it was very nicely corrected with extra strawberries and champagne so it is not a "CON". It would of been nice for it to be there when we got to the room, but it was great !
Some of the nightly entertainment was not so hot. But you can always find another venue if you dont like where you are!
I wasn't a fan of the beds/pillows. My husband liked it but I did not think it was comfortable at all.
All in all, the anthem is a beautiful ship and we had a great time !!
Bermuda was amazing, great weather (didnt waste time taking the public bus, take the $7 rides to Horseshoe Bay, well worth it). Someone my son was talking to said Horseshoe Bay reminded her of Coney Island.... not sure what she was talking about, we went there the 2 days we were there and it is amazing. I was at Coney Island last summer and I dont remember blue water and beautiful rock formations there....
Bottom line is take the reviews with a grain of salt. Some people are NEVER happy !! But we loved it, just my 2 cents !! lol
now i gotta run and get on a ferry to fire island for my nieces graduation party.... what a difference... anthem to FI ferry !!! lol

loving the pics cause i am counting down to the 14th ~! I am nervous about the weather but seeing some people at the beach made me veryyy happy ! Thanks Kyle for the review !
Also, the North Star - i have been unable to make reservations for this on the web. How does the standby procedure work ?? best to do while in port ?
-
loving your report ! were there any movies shown outdoors and if so which one ?
-
i loved your review and now i am definitely excited for my upcoming Anthem cruise.... little nervous by some previous reviews but you completely changed my mind.... !!! :D now i am going to read some of your other reviews !! keep up the good work !!

we did a waverunner tour with a company right off the ship in kings wharf. my DH and DS are doing it again in May.... i will look for the name of it when we go but they were great... it was a lot of fun....

This is one the most pathetic examples I've seen on CC for some time of changing the subject and bringing up irrelevant tangents........:rolleyes::rolleyes: A truly absurd post.
lmao i totally agree... i was the original poster and just asked a simple question. my son will be 21 in july but we sail in may... he was in europe last thanksgiving and DR this spring break and enjoyed many few beers on these vacations responsibly. i'll buy him beers and he will enjoy them on our balcony with his dad... when we are in port, he can buy us back....

Redeemed points for OBC for a May cruise. The lady i spoke with said it will show up 1 week before.. i have my email confirmation just in case. DH was just saying this morning that after this we are getting rid of the card... not enough perks...
-
i know on NCL i was able to sign a waiver for my son to drink beer even though he was under 21. Does RCCL do the same ?
-

I was just looking at those this morning ! My MIL is not good with being on the water so she avoids it but this is a great way for her to try out cruising. I am going on my first Norwegian cruise this Sunday on Breakaway. If all goes well, perhaps we will book it for a mini getaway !:D
-
Will do !! We are from NY and love steakhouses in the city, so I will keep an open mind... MY dh and ds love seafood so I was going to book Ocean Blue but I find the charge a little much.....
-

Loving your review ! But disappointed about Cagneys !! I leave on Sunday and that was the one restaurant i was looking forward to ! Keeping my fingers crossed....:)
-
First time to Bermuda in August. Does anyone know if people take their own umbrella ?? My husband wants to bring our travel one cause we will be at the beach several times and we cannot sit in the sun without it .... $$ it would be a savings also but i'm not sure if anyone does this ??
-
absolutely loving this review.... counting down the days till my first NCL cruise and first time to Bermuda !!!! Thank you so much for doing this !!! :)
-
Has anyone done the Ocean Blue restaurant ? The cover charge is kinda high but if it is worth it, we will splurge for that one.
I have cagneys booked already... also looking at the cirque show and dinner... how is the food there ?
Also has anyone had the sushi @ wasabi ? how is the pricing since it is a la carte....
Thanks ! :)
