  1. Totally agree with Haboob!  Talk to your TA and then go to your local “Service Canada” office or look at the government of Canada web site and verify “Everything” the TA has told you.  Do not trust hearsay information for an issue this critical.

    Bon voyage

  2. Thank you very much for the information and photos you presented on this thread.  We have only cruised twice before on HAL many years ago.  The Princess experience will be new and somewhat baffling.  Your efforts are greatly appreciated and will go a long way towards making our 40th anniversary vacation happier and more stress free.

Wishing you a happy Thanksgiving and holiday season from Canada

  3. Does anyone know what is happening? The ship’s camera shows CB is still bound for Port Everglades on Sunday evening. I would have thought it normally arrives Sunday a.m. so wonder if the propulsion problem has worsened? We are booked for 25 Nov. in an ocean view. Concerned that Princess will be shoving an oar out our window and expecting us to take turns rowing? :(

  4. Thank you NY Nana and many others for taking the time to share information. I realize there are many on CC who are Elite, Platinum, etc. with extensive cruise experience. We however, are inexperienced and greatly appreciate the information you provide. Travelling from Canada in late Nov. to try to get to our cruise in Florida presents a great deal of stress. It requires planning extra time, hotels, weather contingencies and cost. CC provides a platform for us to obtain a great deal of knowledge pre-cruise which in turn will make our trip more enjoyable and lessen our stress levels. Again, thank you to all who for whatever reason offer their assistance.

  5. As being Canadian we face a potential 35% exchange rate from the credit card/banks. My understanding is that Princess is only taking 20% on Canadian dollars. Would a purchase 3 or 4 hundred dollars worth of OBC be deducted from our final bill at the end of the cruise? Am I correct in assuming that OBC is good for everything from bar bills, shop purchases, restaurant cover charges, to excursions or are there exclusions? Would any unused balance of OBC be refunded at the end of a cruise? Thanks in advance for any advice you may provide.
