  1. I last cruised Carnival and had several problems with my cabin being to hot and rude passengers getting into fights outside of my cabin and at the sports bar. I made several complaints to Carnival I had cruised several times with them and never had an extremely high sign and sail or casino charges. I have cruised two other Carnival Corp owned lines. I booked my free cabin this week on the Magic. I'm hoping not to have the repeat problems I had last May on the Magic...

  2. Are you sure it's really from Carnival and not from one of the questionable agencies that aren't really what they claim? We've received 'free cruise' offers from RCI and Celebrity recently, both of which turned out to be scams when we Googled the agency name (that is only listed in the VERY fine print!). Make sure to read it all. The Princess free cruise offer was very well publicized and verified by many people, while your offer may not be what it claims.

I just booked mine through Carnival. I upgraded to an Ocean View cabin. I could not get a balcony but that's ok. All I had to pay was the port fees and upgrade fee... Gotta Love it. :):):)

  3. You didn't offend me :). I'm proud of who I am, what I have and what I've accomplished in life. But not everyone that cruises because they are affordable are rude & crude people. Lots of us are just hardworking people that love to travel and cruising is a great way to see more places.

Again, I'm sorry that your cruise wasn't all you expected or wanted it to be. I hope you find a line that you love as much as I love Carnival :).

I agree with you that not all of the cruisers that are cruising because it is affordable are crude. I was just luck enough to be on a cruise that this was not the fact. I have cruised Carnival 4 other times and not had one problem. I learned a lesson not to cruise when kids are out of school. The only problem that will keep me from cruising Carnival again is the fact that my cabin was sooooo hot. I have always held special place in my heart for Carnival and I have always been their biggest cheerleader until this cruise.

  4. I'm sorry about your bad experience on the Magic. I was on it last year and loved everything about that cruise.

It is because of Carnival being affordable to "people that would not cruise" that I am able to take cruises. I think it's awesome that blue collar workers and rednecks like myself can afford to take fun vacations on fun ships.

I'm sorry if I offended you, but the fact is on this last cruise I had a total of $800.00 OBC due to price drops. I have never cruised with such rude and totally crude people, and yes a lot of rednecks. Carnival refused to make my cabin comfortable, I have never had to cruise in a cabin with a cabin temp of 74 degrees and be expected to sleep in that cabin. I paid for 2 cabins one balcony and one inside on the lido deck and did not think I would at least not be comfortable in my cabin. I have cruised Carnival several times and have never had such a bad experience on a cruise. Again, I apologize if I offend you with my statements but unfortunately that is now my feelings.

  5. I have to say we were extremely disappointed in our cruise on the Magic this past May. Please forgive me but this ship had some real rednecks and the class of people just did not measure up to past cruises. We had drunks that would get in fights at 3 am and the ship was so hot. We had one redneck that threw his glass of beer at my daughter, because she was cheering for the Memphis Grizzles.... and they were loosing. I have never experienced such horrible behavior in any of our previous cruises. I agree with the person that Carnival lowering their prices to such low rates people that would not cruise are not cruising on Carnival. With Carnival's response to my complaints I think I am going to look for another cruise line.

  6. I'm curious did you find this ship's cabin temp a little warm? We were on the Magic this past May and our cabin was borderline hot. I kept calling to get this taken care of and finally they told me that the temp's were regulated to range between 72 and 74 degrees. For me 72 is a little warm to sleep and 74 is way to warm to sleep. This was not my first Carnival cruise and I love Carnival. So I was just wondering if other people found this ship a little on the warm side. I did love everything else about this ship.

  7. I have only cruised Holland once but noticed a lot of differences. The crew on the Westerdam seemed to be very willing to help with my husband, who is in a wheel chair, they never acted like it was a bother to assist. The crew was amazing on this crise. I loved to hear the daily update from the Captain, who always seemed to be in a great mood and his updates were always very informative. Then I never saw any evidence of the dreaded "Chair Hog"... Then one of the most important thing was the coffee was drinkable. ;) I also loved the sail-away when the Captain kept blowing the horn, and I just loved that. Now I tell everyone I have a new favorite cruise line and it is Holland American. :)
