I see there is a night cruise in Budapest , where the town is all in lights.  Does my ship do that night cruise or is it a excursion on another ship, that we need to book ?

during the day the ship will be moored close to the 'Chain Bridge' but as the sun goes down it will  cast off and do the Night tour passing under the bridges and along all the public buildings that are lit up. It will then re-dock probably close to St Margarets Island for the last night and your disembarkation the following morning. It is an included part of the cruise, so no booking or extra charge

We will be in Budapest for five nights in October and plan to visit this market.
I love the idea of eating from the local stalls but is there any seating for them?  We always try to eat at markets where travelling, but I really hate eating (and drinking wine) standing up.

In the main market there is the 'Tourist Part' that has tables & chair across one side and the other sides where the locals eat at a 1/4 of the price you have a lean too counter and bar stools.

I guess I will have to wait until we hear from AMAWaterways .. We have have forwarded all the paperwork to Cruise Critic .. and they have passed it on with our Notarized papers to AMA .... SO we wait .. but not to long , since we have until April 30th to book the date

     🙂

Are you sure that you have till 30th April to book it? And not to take it? I know someone who has a similar offer and it has to be taken by 30th April or November-December 2019

  4. I  have been on a number of Danube River cruises, some with Viking  any 1 with AMA. As a first cruise Budapest to Nuremberg I would suggest would be a good one. Almost all towns you visit you walk off the ship, or a max 30 Min bus ride, if there is enough water. 2018 in Europe river cruising was difficult because of Very Dry and warm conditions and our Bucharest to Budapest in October was cancelled with 2 days notice, but Viking had a full cash refund back in our bank within 7 days. But it has not put us off and we are back on the Danube with AMA in 3 weeks.Nothing wrong with Viking, just that this cruise fitted in with our other plans and was calling into Bratislava which I have never visited.

  5. We are doing this cruise with AMA on 28th April. Have cruised the Danube many times with different company's and this will be our second with AMA. They are picking us up at Munich airport and taking us to the ship for £21, but you can get the train for the same amount. Last year was a disaster for all river cruise companies all over Europe and that is why we are going in the spring to hopefully have water. We had a cruise from Bucharest to Budapest cancelled with two days notice with Viking in October 2018 because of lack of water. Hopefully all will go well as I'm getting Danube withdrawal symptoms 😂

  6. That's what I did apply for and it was refused. No explanation and apparently you can't be told exactly why it was refused. Yes I'm Scottish born & bread and never lived in any other country. Apart from being arrested at a protest at the building of a nuclear power plant in 1971 have no criminal record. But have been involved in offshore wind power which some people in 'Power' find 'Offensive to the Eye'. Can't think of any other reason why I should be refused , unless they have got hold of my 23 & Me DNA which shows I'm mainly native American [ [imported by 6X gt Grandfather who was an Orcadian] and that they are scared I'm going to claim back 'My Country' from all these European invaders LOL

  7. I did this cruise 3 years ago booking direct with Viking and the original documents clearly stated you require a Russia Visa. after filling up the online forms we had to present ourselves at the scheduled place & time to have out fingerprint taken as well as 'iris' recognition. 4 weeks later we were invited back to recive our visa. I had intended to take a Mississippi cruise in Spring 2019, but trying to get a visa to enter the USA is the most difficult I have ever had, possibly because I am a member of a political party that the present USA president has had problems with in his business life

. What you have to understand is that all countries have different regulations to allow you to enter especially just now with so many countries having disagreements of various sorts. I'm possibly lucky having only lost my deposit because the USA have decided I'm an ' Undesirable'.:mad::mad:
