This is Bob & Su-lan from Southern California.  We booked this 7-day cruise and just want to start the roll call so we can communicate with each other.  The Joy and Bliss are our two favorite Norwegian Cruise Line ships and it has been quite a while since the last time we were on the Bliss, so we are really looking forward to this cruise.  November 2023 is a long way off, but embarkation day will be here before we know it.  Hopefully, the roll call will become much more active as the sail date approaches. If there is sufficient interest, I would be happy to set up our Cruise Critic Meet & Greet for the first sea day.

I think I may as well chime in, since I have now been on the Grand Princess for 43 straight days.  As you probably know, the Grand Princess is a relatively dated ship, so you would expect there to be various problems/malfunctions here and there.  The key is that "if you see something, say something."  In the case of the Grand Princess, if you encounter a problem, whether it is electrical, plumbing, cleanliness of an area, food quality, etc. notify your stateroom steward or guest services, depending on the problem.  The crew is fantastic and responsive. You can rely on a timely response to correct the problem, whatever it is.  If you do that, your cruise will be more enjoyable.  She is still a grand ship and you will find that you will have a great time if you speak up if something needs to be corrected.  That has been my experience. Look forward to an enjoyable cruise.

The easiest way is to completely shut down the phone.  Wait a few seconds and the restart the phone and log in again into the MedallionClass app.  Another option that does not require shutting off the phone is to scroll up on the display slightly from the bottom of the screen with your finger until you see a reduced image of the screen. Then flick the reduced image up to the top and off the screen.  That will shut down the app and you can then open the app again, which should take you back to the app’s home screen.  Let us know if you are having trouble doing either of these options.

  4. I response to a problem I reported to the MedallionClass Support Team, I just received the following: "Please note that support is currently prioritized by sail date. Not to worry… we’ll have you ready to sail in plenty of time ahead of your voyage. We appreciate your patience while we investigate."  Looks like we will just have to be patient and keep monitoring their progress.

  5. I hope I am missing something regarding a dance music venue. On the Royal Princess and Regal Princess there is a "Club 6" adjacent to the casino for DJ music, a bar and dancing.  Where the Club 6 is located on the other ships, the Majestic deck plan shows "VIP Gaming" and "Private Gaming," and I cannot find an alternative to Club 6.  The Princess Patters posted on this thread show "10:30 Onward   All Requests Express with DJ Sakary" in the Hollywood Conservatory.  Has anyone experienced this and can describe what it is like?  Is there a dance floor in the conservatory? Thank you.

Thank you so much for providing all this information about your upcoming cruise.  This will make the preparations and expectations for our future cruises much more realistic.  We recently received information for our first cruise, which indicates that certain group entertainment activities will be excluded, including indoor dancing and nightclubs, and would be curious to see what, if anything, the Entertainment and Cruise Directors do to make up for this loss.  Thanks again.
