  1. We’re on the Emerald right now. Panama Canal LA-Ft. Lauderdale.  Great cruise so far.

Had read cans of soda weren’t included in the Plus Package (which we have—old version, purchased last summer.  BTW, everything included up to $15, as people have said).

First few days—ordered sodas as fountain drinks. Server asked if we wanted cans, as included. I said “sure,” as a test. Never charged. Have now gotten several cans—never charged.

We were next to a woman today who had that same dialogue with a server, who on request checked with her manager, who said cans covered by package.

[Sorry if someone has already posted this].

I read on a site we can't quote that last night the Captain announced need of blood donors with A or O to donate blood.   They needed it for a transfusion.   They had so many responses they had to turn people away.    Makes me proud of our fellow cruisers.   May or may not be related.

    It is related.

Hope the ill or injured passenger will be ok.

Captain said earlier we’d be pulling out again and re-docking in the morning.

Not sure if that’s still the plan.

  3. We (nervously) successfully completed the Optum tests with the emed site, with a laptop. If you have a laptop with a camera, I recommend that.  I think phone would have been quite difficult.

Once you login with your Navica credentials it’s fairly smooth. First person guides you through the test, you’re then left alone for 15 minutes (while you wait, you can see the neg result develop, if you’re neg).

Second person then comes on, looks at the result and then tells you (hopefully) you’re neg.

Then log off and log back in for 2d person (there may be a way for both people to be on the same Navica account, but we didn’t try that).

We got our results emailed and in the app within 5 minutes. Easy to save (including as a pdf) and print if you want paper backup.

I found it helpful for the other person to manipulate the laptop to get all the right things in view of the “guides” (if you don’t have an external camera on your laptop which would make it easier).  Not necessary for those less spatially challenged :).

We bought the 3-pack; didn’t need the 3d; well worth it in my view.

D "I feel that Voyager will be second to start with Rome to Abu Dhabi and Abu Dhabi to Cape Town; both of those cruises have been sold out for a while. "

I'm not too sure on Voyager in October 2021.  They just moved the final payment due date on the Rome to Abu Dhabi sailing to 60 days from embarkation.  If they had solid plans to sail these itineraries then I think Regent would be clamoring to get those funds as quickly as possible.

    Tea leaves are murky......

Can you tell me where you see they’ve moved final payment on Rome to Abu Dhabi?

I’m on that cruise. My booking still shows 5/6, and I just called Regent.  They said it might change but as of today it’s still 5/6.

    Thanks!

  5. Next summer we will be on the Island Princess during the entire Tokyo Olympics (Southampton to NY via Iceland and Greenland).

This is our first Princess cruise.

Will any of the TV channels show the Olympic events?

    Thanks!
