  1. Has anyone done a St Lawrence River cruise? I'm looking at taking my family plus my dad (age 72) on St Lawrence River Cruise in late July 2020. This is a dream vacation for my dad. He wants to visit New Brunswick, Newfoundland, and Fjords. I've never been to Canada. I've only done Caribbean cruises. Any cruise lines that you would recommend or recommend to avoid?
  2. We will be on Carnival cruise at Mahogany Bay. I would like to book a trip to Little French Key. What companies do you recommend? Also, can I hold sloths and snorkel there?
  3. All - thank you all for the information. I just spoke to PJ at the customer service number. She was very helpful and extremely knowledgeable. She said she's been with Carnival for 8 years. She said that Carnival cannot downgrade me class levels. She said that I will keep an Ocean Suite or better if they have to move me. She said that there is a $125 + $49 deposit fee, but $75 of that would be put towards a credit for a future cruise within 24 months. She also recommended that I remove the vacation protection for my husband only. The $129 vacation protection would also be applied towards a credit on a future cruise with Carnival. My cruise is not until March 2020 and I have until January 2020 to make any changes. I'm going to wait until January 2020 to make any changes in case my husband changes his mind. But I feel relieved that Carnival will not downgrade my level of class (Ocean Suite).
  4. Hi Cindy - I just sent you an email. Thank you!
  5. I don’t have a PVP. Should I get one? I’m planning to call Carnival today to find out what will happen if I drop my husband from my reservation for the Ocean Suite room.
  6. I booked a 7 day Caribbean cruise on the Legend for March 2020. I booked an Ocean Suite for 3 people. My husband has decided he does not want to cruise. So this means it will just be me and my 10 year old daughter. Girls trip!! I tried calling Carnival but the wait time is forever! Does anyone know if I will still be able to keep the per person room rate? Or will I have to pay more? I got an awesome rate because I booked 18 months in advance. I did the $50 per person deposit and I purchased the insurance. I’ve already paid $1,000 down on the cruise. If if it’s going to cost more, then I might just pay the $50 name change and invite my mom to come with us.
  7. Yes I know Belize is tender (approx 30 minutes). I didn’t know that Grand Cayman was a tender port.
  8. I thought I also read free laundry service. Is that true? Anything special with room service? Or dining reservations? I selected the “Your Time” dining option so that we could eat whatever time we wanted.
  9. I’ve never been to Tampa so I’m not familiar with Rocky Point. Are there any specific hotels you would suggest?
  10. What hotel would you recommend that includes: shuttle to Carnival cruise port nearby restaurants for dinner breakfast at hotel nearby convenience or gas station to purchase soda and beer for cruise?
  11. Oh, thanks for the tip. I haven’t really explored the other boards on here so I didn’t know there was a Florida departure board. Thanks again!
  12. We are going on first Carnival cruise but it’s really far off (March 2020). We have Ocean Suite booked. How does the perks of embarkment and disembarkment work with Suite Level? What else can I expect as a perk of Suite class?
  13. What hotel would you recommend that is near Tampa cruise port? I would prefer a hotel that has restaurants and gas station (so I can stock up on soda) within walking distance to hotel. And must include complimentary shuttle to cruise port.
  14. Yes, I was super nervous about booking Carnival because I’ve heard a lot of bad stories but I can’t beat the price for 7 day Suite.
  15. Thank you! I want ahead and booked the Legend ship for the Western Caribbean Plus Cozumel trip. So excited! Yes, I definitely plan to book my own excursions for all the ports.
  16. I booked our very first Carnival Cruise using the Early Saver deal. After talking to a rep, this deal worked for me. It is not fully refundable, but I can transfer the money to another Carnival Cruise date with $50 per person penalty fee. I can also change the name for a $50 penalty fee. My husband said he is glad that I picked the Grand Cayman and Belize ports because he can go diving. And I also purchased the vacation insurance. I also told them the "Anytime Dining" option. Now I get to research excursions. Let the fun planning begin!
  17. Those prices are pretty good for a cruise. Thanks!
  18. We are not huge soda drinkers (avg 1 per day) and we only drink 1-3 cocktails per day on cruise. I like mixed cocktails and hubby prefers bourbon. How much is soda and liquor drinks? Are we better off buying a beverage package?
  19. Thank you! Is that the only difference between ES and Funsaver?
  20. Is free soda available at the MDR and other restaurants with your meals?
  21. I'm assuming there is free water available at the soda dispensers on the ship. I've only been on Disney cruises and they have free unlimited soda and water dispensers on the pool deck. Does Carnival offer the same setup? If so, is the water safe to drink on the ship? Or should I purchase the bottled water?
  22. Can you tell me what is the Funtastic Savings? The description on Carnival website is very vague.
